Seattle safety Delano Hill was the latest to see his pay docked as the NFL fined him $12,154 after his ejection from Sunday’s loss to the Rams.

Hill became the third Seattle player ejected in two weeks. He threw two punches at Michael Thomas in the third quarter following a Seattle punt.

The league also fined two Rams players as Robert Quinn was docked $12,154 for unsportsmanlike conduct and Nickell Robey-Coleman saw his pay reduced $9,115 for unnecessary roughness.

When did these fines come into place? I don’t ever remember players getting fined until a few years ago. I just don’t understand why. They’re playing football and the commit a penalty. The flag is their punishment. You get ejected? THATS your punishment. Why the fuck is money involved with players? Could you imagine going into work and getting written up for being late, and they fine you? Fuck that.

Actually, I think McVay fines players for being late to meetings.

Yeah, but two things.
One, it's supposed to be (losing money) a bigger motivator than a flag.
Two, the money goes to care programs for former players.

Yeah, that's the point. A second offense is much more - as is every subsequent offense.
Maybe $40K isn't a huge deterrent to some of these millionaires, but at least the money goes to a good place.

We do get fined in a way for getting written up, 1 write up = 3 months no safety bonus, about $216.00.

They fine Quinn the same amount as the guy who initiated and instigated the scuffle? All Quinn did was try to protect his teammates from the dirty prick taking out his anger from getting killed on the scoreboard by taking cheap shoots.
