Such awful news, really disturbing.

I loved Princess Bride and also Spinal Tap. All in the Family was great, too.

I bet their son struggled with mental illness in addition to addiction. Just such a horrible story.

He had a run of films there that is rare. An amazing film maker/director.
Made some of the most iconic movies in different genres.
To be able to direct Spinal Tap (the best mockumentary ever), When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, A Few Good Men and Misery....he touched all the bases and mastered them all.
Amazingly productive career.
Sadly, professional success does not automatically translate to a successful or peaceful personal life. From everything you read with people who had personal, professional interactions, he was a great guy. He met his wife on the set of When Harry Met Sally.
The kid is obviously very troubled. He had been in rehab 17 times. Im sure he was a heartbreak for his parents. Sad in every way. Bitter sweet is about the best one can expect in this life.
This is just very sad.

This is wild. They said that night they were at Conan O'Briens house for a holiday party and that they both got into it with their son in a bad way....it takes a special type of fucked up to take out your own parents, who have taken care of you for 32 damn years.

May they Rest In Peace(anyone else do the undertaker voice when they type that)

Kinda has the same ugly vibe as the Menendez Brothers. I know they are saying it's attributed to a mental health crisis, and that is sad, but you still have to do the jail time.

BTW... All in the Ramily was one of my pops favorite shows, and how can you not love Archie.

Sad sad situation. They knew their son was in a bad way but their love for him might have prevented them from doing what he needed, institutional care. Any parent can probably relate. What a tragic result.

I took down two posts because they are pretty inappropriate for a RIP thread whether you liked the guy or not. It’s a tragic event and I just don’t see the need for that kind of posting here.
