was always a big fan of his

I've never seen Dr. Kildare , but know people have always spoken highly of it

loved all his swashbuckling movies of the 70's , with The Three / Four Musketeers still probably being my favorite movie / s of all time

one movie they didn't mention was The Slipper and then Rose , which is actually a really good , if you take away the singing bits , it's a musical about Cinderella , not that I have anything about musicals , just didn't care for most of the songs in this musical .....................lol

his Allan Quartermain movies aren't the best , but their a fun watch

and then there was his must see TV mini series of 1980 , Shogun

Alan Quartermain was the inspiration for Indiana Jones if I remember correctly.

My mom and I both read the James Clavell Asian Saga in the 80s. Shogun, Tai-Pan, King Rat and Noble House. Gai-Jin didn’t come out until 1995. And Whirlwind also came out later.

He was amazing in the Shogun mini-series as he was in the Thornbirds as a priest who has an affair with Rachel Ward.

We’re gonna watch the newest Shogun miniseries. She lives with me now, but with my health stuff, we haven’t been able to watch that or the last season of Reacher.

RIP to the king of the mini-series.
