Jimmy Kempski of the Philly Voice reports the Eagles "are considering moving on" from C Jason Kelce.

It would be a surprising move which ultimately would not save the cap-strapped Eagles very much money. Philly would gain $3.8 million against the cap by releasing or trading Kelce, and that number would grow to $5 million if he is designated a post-June 1 cut. Neither total seems like enough to move on from one of the better centers in the game, even if he is coming off a down year. Kelce just turned 29 in November.

Give them our 7th for him and say goodbye to that dead body of a Center we have!

He's better than the Barnes turnstile. I'm hearing A.J. Shipley might be available through FA also.

Wasn't Timmerman a guard?

I'm assuming he just means that as it pertained to Timmer being a solid veteran presence that came in and really solidified our line compared to before.

I would welcome anyone who can come in and play center.... or guard.... or tackle.

Depends on what blocking scheme we run. He's very undersized, so if we're planning to run a PBS, no way.

I would love to see Kelce added, but I think the Rams would be wise to add FA focus and money elsewhere.

OL first, to get a vet in here to anchor the line. Quality over quantity IMO.

WR second, to add someone Goff can depend on and who preferably can be a role model for our young wideouts.

Our TE room isn't going to be a problem. I expect Higbee to develop quickly with McVay running this offense and to be a monster in year two, and Kendricks is fine as a backup.

Completely agree with your thoughts on Higbee, my friend. I wouldn't be the slightest bit upset if we decide to cut Kendricks however to build additional cap. We can find backup blocking tight ends with better hands at a fraction of the cost.

The interesting thing is Allbright was just quoted as saying they want to upgrade TE and OL. Hopefully that shifts a bit to WR and OL.

One of the most intriguing options in FA is Pryor, but that is assuming he actually hits FA. Not sure the Browns will let him test the waters, though, because he's rangy and smooth, and has the hands and focus you want. Concern is him putting it together in a contract season, but I overlook that with him due to the whole QB conversion thing.

I also think we might be able to buy low on Jeffery due to the PEDs. But he is an impact player, a difference maker and perfect fit for a RAC centric offense. I think bringing that dude in would probably be the biggest single impact they could make in FA, right there with a vet OL, because then you give Goff another option he can trust, and it helps that focus on the ball getting out quicker.

McVay is going to have Goff dishing that ball in practice by the 2.3 second range and build the quick decision making this offense will need. They gotta get him some big hands and RAC options for that to have its most impact though.

Higbee got his azz blown up this year. He learned the hard way, that he is not a tough as he thought he was. Has to develop , but he &!Goff are tight from rooming together as rookies.

To add about Kielce. Let's get the coaching staff in place first. I could see DJ coming to town. He is a LB $ Cali guy . He will thrive against the SF red. Pure Gangster. Billy Donavan passed on him for Avery. -- I think he would be good with Tavon Austin though.
---McVay has a special relationship DJ & he should have went to USC with Pete Carrol. He changed his mind at last second. Mark Sanchez had him coming with him. He wanted to play baseball as well at CAL.
Talk about a recruiting class if he stays with his first desicion.

There is a reason Phila doesn't want him any more!

He isn't what he used to be. He had a very bad year.

No doubt.

Key with TEs though is even the great ones historically don't have instant impact. Even the best will start having impact in year two on. Higbee is extremely talented but he also is a huge target and has the hands and instincts you want. He is now going to have top-notch coaching and a system that sets him up for success. And he and Goff are tight as you mentioned. IMO the stars are aligned for that dude to arrive.

Only fear I have with him is the partying side, but reportedly he's outgrown that. If so great things are ahead for him

For those confused... its the Kelce from Philly that's a C, not the TE from KC.

Carry on...

I would have to agree. If they are eager to send him packing, he obviously isn't in his peak form.
We saw it with Jake Long and we saw it with Scott Wells. Teams usually scramble to sign OL if they are still quality players.

Hopefully the court thing got him straight. Your career & life flashes in front of you .

I like Hemmingways upside as well.Really think he has an excellent skill set. Snead I still believe found some nice late round guys.

Reed with Washington under McVay was as good as it gets from a TE.

Yes.A quality center can usually be found in 3rd-5th.

Nick Mangold will most likely be available. Coming off injury but Alex Mack like talent. Need to front-load contract.
