Rams at Broncos — Shawn Smith

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawn_Smith_(American_football)

Shawn Smith is a National Football League (NFL) official. He wears uniform number 14. He entered the league in the 2015 season as an umpire, and was promoted to referee for the 2018 season, following the retirements of Terry McAulay and Gene Steratore.

Smith becomes only the sixth African-American referee in NFL history, following Johnny Grier, Mike Carey, Jerome Boger, Don Carey and Ronald Torbert.

Smith's 2018 NFL officiating crew consists of umpire Bryan Neale, down judge Mark Hittner, line judge Bart Longson, field judge Brad Rogers, side judge James Coleman, and back judge Dino Paganelli.

Can't be any worse than the two he replaces. Steratore needed a red cane with a white tip the last two years.

Can’t be worse than the last crew. Can it?

I don't like to tempt fate... it's never a good sign to say something where fate can say, "hold my beer"...

That said, it'd be difficult for a crew to be worse.

When one is...and I'm sure it will happen... I don't want it happening anywhere near the Rams...

I like stink, just get bored by his partner. Also don’t like that I’m stuck with Seattle and the Faiders.

I like Schlereth as well. As a former Bronco it will be interesting to see if he can keep homerism out of his analysis. Plus we'll get to hear Stockton say "Samson Ekubam" over and over.

FWIW I prefer women, not that there is anything wrong to prefer men.

There are many things in life where women are preferable to men, I just wouldn't list anything to do with football besides cheerleading.

I'm pretty sure that there are female scouts, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was eventually a female GM. There's still female refs as well, and they're probably better than a lot of the guys. Gender doesn't have anything to do with intelligence in those areas.

And once again, Rams @ Broncos gives us the FOX broadcasting team of the Stock and the Stink.

ugh.....

http://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2018&wk=6

Central Valley gets screwed again. Fox shows only one game and its the London game at like 6AM. Why wouldn't they put it on CBS do like the Denver area is doing and not airing a late game because of the RAMS game will be on FOX. No they air the chargers and browns. Jeez shouldn't cancelled Sunday Ticket.
