Time has a bunch of colorized photos, here; http://time.com/3814470/see-the-american-civil-war-in-color-photographs/

But I found this one to be particularly cool. Most of the photos from that era almost don't seem real.

You notice his hands. They say he was always fidgety.

Last summer at a golf course in Ahwatukee. The wind and massive rain came out of nowhere. Yes that's the green that flooded in mere minutes and also a massive 45-50 ft tree that snapped. Good times!

It's important we add historical context to the images so we have a better understanding:

Here's one of Ahwatukee's haboobs. Ahwatukee is on the edge of Phoenix, next to the desert. Dust storms are common, storms like this every few years.

This one was totally random. Just sitting on my porch and took a few quickies and this one turned out pretty neat.

Robert Cornelius set up a camera and took the world’s first self-portrait in the back of a business on Chestnut Street in Center City, Philadelphia. Cornelius sat in front of the lens for a little over a minute, before leaving the seat and covering the lens. The now iconic photograph was captured 185 years ago in 1839.
