The NFL will be releasing their 2013 Regular Season Schedule a week from today on Wednesday April 17th. But what has become a tradition in the NFL, the week one National Broadcast Games are going to start leaking in the coming days. These games were determined at the Owners Meetings in mid-March, but are kept under wrap until the coming days.

But the big news for St.Louis Rams fans is the Rams might be opening the 2013 season in Seattle in the 2nd game of the Monday Night Double Header for week one.

I'd be cool with that. Show Seattle who's boss, on the road, on National television.

No link. Just something I am gathering/hearing from someone close to the situation.

I will say this. This is not a glowing endorsement for the Rams. The 2nd Monday Night Football game is basically a "throw away" game as far as ratings. The game typically starts around 9:30 PM cst. That means 10:30 PM est where the largest number of the population lives. This second MNF game in the double header is usually a game like Oakland vs San Diego. And although Seattle is a "media darling" right now, they will not garner much in ratings.

If this is true, I will be in Seattle.

My person close to the situation is not 100% sure on this. He said he knows the highers ups with the Rams were told going into the Owners Meetings this would likely be the case. But the NFL was also considering a Seattle-Arizona MNF game #2 of the double header for week 1.

Another game to possibly look for is the Rams Thursday Night game this year being on the road in the division. With both of the San Francisco vs Seattle games being in high demand by Fox, NBC, ESPN, and the NFL Network, we will likely get the Rams traveling to Arizona for a Thursday Night Game.

I know Fish likes to open at home, but this could be the best thing for the Rams if so. I might actually rather it not be a Mon night game if in Seattle though.

Bummer for Seattle, Wilson is only going to get about 3 or 4 snaps in this season.

It is what it is. That 2nd MNF in Week One is always going to be played in a city that's in Pacific Standard Time...which puts it in prime time to those people living in Pacific and Mountain time zones. Yeah, it'll probably get poorer ratings in the Eastern & Central zones. So what, though? The die hard Rams fans will still watch.

I'm on the East Coast -- ain't no thing, though. If the Rams are playing that late Monday Nighter, I'll just take the following day off from work.

I may be wrong but can't remember when the 2nd MNF game had a team from a time zone other than PST

just checked back to 2006 and only one team (KC) played the late game on MNF... mostly it was Denver,Oakland, SD, AZ,SF

Report: Ravens open at Denver
Posted by Mike Florio on April 18, 2013, 2:00 PM EDT
Jacoby Reuters

The leaks have begun.

With the schedule set to be officially released at 8:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reports that the Ravens will open the season at Denver on Thursday, September 5.

The Ravens-Broncos game otherwise would have been televised by CBS at some point later in the year. (CBS presumably isn’t thrilled about losing that game.)

The Ravens lost the opportunity to open the season at home due to a game scheduled that same night between the Chicago White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles, in a stadium that shares a parking lot with the place where the Ravens play.

The Ravens reportedly prefer playing on the road for the traditional Thursday night opener involving the defending Super Bowl champion instead of playing at home later in the weekend, in part because they want the 10-day break that comes with playing in the first game of the year. Since they’ll have to play in Denver at some point in the 2013 regular season, they may as well get it out of the way early, with a full and complete opportunity to prepare for a rematch with Peyton Manning and company.

It’s the most compelling game the Ravens could have played on the road to start the season. Baltimore upset Denver in the playoffs, after the Broncos had won 11 games in a row by seven or more points. Then, the Broncos cut defensive end Elvis Dumervil as an effort to reduce his cap number went haywire, and Dumervil eventually decided that, if he can’t beat the Ravens, he’ll join them.

Apparently, he’ll be joining them in Denver.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict the Rams open the season at home against the Cardinals on kickoff Sunday. :cheese: :cheese: :cheese:
