The Rams signed second-round RB Isaiah Pead, his agent, Rick Smith, confirmed on Twitter.

Pead was the 50th overall pick in April’s draft. The 5-10, 197-pound back out of Cincinnati rushed for 1,259 yards in 2011 and was named the Big East Offensive Player of the Year.

In St. Louis, Pead is expected to be Steven Jackson’s backup. Click here for his PFW scouting report.
