Either Karty or Mevis needs to really kick fast but accurate.
Nobody has mentioned Ward as everybody mentions the line or Karty but Ward may be losing his job at LS to McQuaid.

Really curious to see who wins this competition... the brainiac from Stanford or the Chris Farley dude from Mizzou?

I'll support whoever wins it... just such a big contrast!

I'm guessing that if it's close, McVay will stick with Karty. The guy's got plenty of talent.

Regardless of the K, I bet McQuaide will be an upgrade. That "laces in" kick was unacceptable, and it sounds like the snapper can be responsible for the number of rotations to get back to the holder.

Question is how long will if and just a big if that Karty wins will it be Evans doing kickoffs until Karty can get his FG's and extra points right.
And if Mevis wins maybe he will do kickoffs. Remember he kicked a 61-yard FG in college?!

First off, fix the damn blocking. If the blocking is holding up, then if Karty misses, it's on him and it's time for a change. Not sure if the long snapper will be changed, but a split second can be the difference between a blocked FG and a made FG.

Hopping we will get to see him truck some skinny kick returner who thinks he might score.

Interesting interview with Karty yesterday, not sure if it was posted elsewhere.

Most intriguing response was his answer to "what was your evaluation of what happened with the two misses on Sunday." Karty did his best to dodge the question, saying "there's a lot of intricacies to the kicking game", and talked about how the whole operation was struggling, made a vague reference to some "changes", then finally ended with a "no comment."

Said he was just focused on trying to hit the ball high and straight. Said he felt good about how he hit the ball on Wednesday.

My take: Seemed to me like Karty wasn't pleased with some aspects of the kicking game, but was trying not to throw any teammates under the bus.

After hearing this interview, I'd be surprised if Karty lost his job this week. I think he probably has more talent than Mevis. Really hoping that the addition of McQuaide can help settle this shit down.

Anyone who talks about themselves in the 3rd person worries me! But I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now even though this interview felt consistent with his mental struggles. He says he’s in a good spot so let’s hope we see improvements because it’s probably going to be a close game

I like that Mevis is donning #92.

Man he looks like he is in his late 30s early 40s
Funny, I was at a conference on Tuesday and one of the speakers, afterwards I had a person tell me I looked 35-40 and being 59, I liked it.

It is really weird how he doesn't just go to a 'I need to do a better job' or 'we all need to do a better job'. Seems like an awkward dude, but that's just a no brainer comment especially considering McVay OBVIOUSLY has some issue with Karty if we brought another kicker in for competition
