BOOGIE ROBERTSDL, LOS ANGELES RAMS
https://www.rotoworld.com/football/nfl/player/52005/boogie-roberts
Rams signed San Jose State DT Boogie Roberts.
Roberts (6’2/289) made 36 starts on the Spartans’ defensive line, logging 23 career tackles for loss with six sacks and four forced fumbles. An impressive athlete, Roberts dabbled as a short-yardage back and covered punts early in his college career. Roberts was snubbed for a Combine invite despite generating QB pressures on 12.5% of his senior-year pass-rush snaps, the third-highest rate among iDLs in this class behind only Quinnen Williams and Christian Wilkins. Roberts is a compelling small-school sleeper with big-time gap-shooting potential.

Or as he's referred to in the UDFA thread going on Owen Roberts.

I don't recall so many UDFAs picked up in one year by the Rams. Gotta be a couple gold nuggets in the field. Hoping one of the TEs comes thru. Natrez Patrick seems like a wildcard LB.

This is about normal actually. We usually have to bring in a lot to get the roster to the training camp size since at most we end the season with the 53 man roster if nobody leaves plus the practice squad plus draft picks. So normally we sign a minimum of 25. Last year there was less about them I think, though this last round was after they announced some workout/tryouts for roster spots last week.

They're so tight against the cap this year they've needed to be very selective about any veterans being brought in as filler. So a bunch of rookie UDFAs instead of minimum salaried vets.

We're actually in the same position as last year maybe even a little better at this point. Every year we sign guys to get the roster to 90 people for training camp.

It's going to be even more difficult than prior years, for this group of UDFA's to make the final roster. That's what happens when you have a Superbowl caliber roster.

I'm super biased because I know the young man...but he may get a chance to at least stick on the practice squad. played well..and continued to improve at SJSU...

Here's to hoping he's the next Kurt Warner. (y)

But like much bigger and better against the run and stuff.

I don't recall Warner missing any tackles while playing against the run. :homer:
