This is a Full List of Roster Comparisons from 2011 through 2015. Most Rams fans and NFL pundits thought that besides a small handful of solid core players, the 2011 ROSTER Jeff Fisher inherited from Steve Spagnolo was close to an expansion team level of overall talent.

If you look at each succeeding years Roster turnover ratio, you can see the chosen rebuilding path that Les Snead and coach Fisher took. They definitely have had their share of Star hits and Blundering misses but have mostly kept to their vision about keeping a younger team and building primarily through the draft.

Each Roster Position Grouping has been listed from top to bottom based on the players production, value and games started. Meaning the player listed above the player below him had the better stats, more starts and or an overall more productive season that year.

I listed the approximate TOP 60 players from each season and consolidated them by position ranking of each years roster. If a Players Name is not in BOLD letters, this means the player was not on the following seasons roster or not on it for very long etc.

I thought this was interesting and would jog a few memories of the Rams past recent rosters from 2011-2015 and maybe give some of you some insight as we anxiously wait for the 2016 season to kick off.

We all know how the Salary Cap alters an NFL Franchise from keeping all their best players, as well as the Year to Year REBUILDING CHALLENGE every NFL Franchise faces.

A total of 21 out of 60 players from 2011 made Fisher's Rams opening day 2012 Roster. The 2011 Rams team went 2-14 and when you analyse the roster you can see why an almost complete rebuild was in the works.

From 2011 to 2013 there were only 7 players retained. That is ridiculously bad. The real rebuild didnt really even start until after Fisher/Sneads first season was over and he had time to evaluate players after the played.

These reviews are always a stark reminder of just how bad the team was and how far it has come. Get ready to start making the playoffs.

I can not stand drafting o lineman in the top 5, it just isn't worth it, I have preached this point forever. I really hope Greg Robinson turns it around because he could be another example of a wasted top 5 pick.

@Florida_Ram that is AWESOME work. Seeing everything laid out like that really drives home the point of just how badly the Rams were mismanaged for so many years under Linehan, Spagnuolo, Martz, Shaw, Zygmunt, Devaney and ownership.

Some of you have heard me say this before, and a few of you know the poster "waterfield" from the Herd (good poster btw), he essentially said "it could take 7 years to fix this". Now he didn't know that Bradford would go down two years in a row, but he's looking pretty smart right about now eh. He said it right after the Rams went 1-15.

And if you recall they beat the Lions on a fake punt, otherwise they would have been 0-16 just like the Lions were the year before.

I want to echo the praise from all other posters.

A few general thoughts that stuck with me...

Yeah, it was a virtually complete renovation project for S&F.

They did an amazing job with ST in their first year. Hekker, Zuerlein, and McQuaide. Wow!

Did anyone else notice how high TruJo was ranked in effectiveness by Florida? Over even Jenkins several times.

The D got "fixed" relatively quickly. And we've lost Jenkins, McLeod, and Stewart off the top of my head, already. Yet I think we're still strong in our secondary. This staff does secondary development exceptionally well.

This staff has struggled with O development, however. While the D was rapidly ascending, there were struggles at every single O position group. Kinda painful to see some of those names, huh? Not as if they didn't invest draft picks and FA dollars on the O, either.

My take? Fisher has assembled a great D and ST coaching staff. But the continued struggles on the various O position groups cannot be ignored. This piece by Florida hammers that home, imo.

Fisher has made some significant coaching changes for this year. It is my hope that they can finally get the Ram O to middle of the pack status. Boras and Groh will have a big role in that transformation.

I believe the players are there. The question is whether the O coaches can develop their players as the D coaches have been doing for years.

If so, we're in business. If not, another year of mediocrity lies ahead.

This is a Full List of Roster Comparisons from 2011 through 2015. Most Rams fans and NFL pundits thought that besides a small handful of solid core players, the 2011 ROSTER Jeff Fisher inherited from Steve Spagnolo was close to an expansion team level of overall talent.

If you look at each succeeding years Roster turnover ratio, you can see the chosen rebuilding path that Les Snead and coach Fisher took. They definitely have had their share of Star hits and Blundering misses but have mostly kept to their vision about keeping a younger team and building primarily through the draft.

Each Roster Position Grouping has been listed from top to bottom based on the players production, value and games started. Meaning the player listed above the player below him had the better stats, more starts and or an overall more productive season that year.

I listed the approximate TOP 60 players from each season and consolidated them by position ranking of each years roster. If a Players Name is not in BOLD letters, this means the player was not on the following seasons roster or not on it for very long etc.

I thought this was interesting and would jog a few memories of the Rams past recent rosters from 2011-2015 and maybe give some of you some insight as we anxiously wait for the 2016 season to kick off.

This is a Full List of Roster Comparisons from 2011 through 2015. Most Rams fans and NFL pundits thought that besides a small handful of solid core players, the 2011 ROSTER Jeff Fisher inherited from Steve Spagnolo was close to an expansion team level of overall talent.

If you look at each succeeding years Roster turnover ratio, you can see the chosen rebuilding path that Les Snead and coach Fisher took. They definitely have had their share of Star hits and Blundering misses but have mostly kept to their vision about keeping a younger team and building primarily through the draft.

Each Roster Position Grouping has been listed from top to bottom based on the players production, value and games started. Meaning the player listed above the player below him had the better stats, more starts and or an overall more productive season that year.

I listed the approximate TOP 60 players from each season and consolidated them by position ranking of each years roster. If a Players Name is not in BOLD letters, this means the player was not on the following seasons roster or not on it for very long etc.

I thought this was interesting and would jog a few memories of the Rams past recent rosters from 2011-2015 and maybe give some of you some insight as we anxiously wait for the 2016 season to kick off.

We all know how the Salary Cap alters an NFL Franchise from keeping all their best players, as well as the Year to Year REBUILDING CHALLENGE every NFL Franchise faces.

Summary: I left several names in thin text (not in bold letters) because we cannot be 100% sure if some of the better known players from 2015 will for sure make the 2016 Roster. This is a unique year all in its own..

This is why I will leave it up to some of you King Solomon wise Rams fans to put in your 2 cents since I did some of the heavy lifting.

I hope this Roster Turnover piece gave some of you some insight and jogged some memories about how far this Roster has come since 2011, when Snead and Fisher started their major rebuilding project.

As great in depth analysis as usual @Florida_Ram now it's time to start winning consistently and I believe strongly it will begin this season.

Thanks coach den for the appreciation and pleasant words of acknowledgment. I thought it would spark some memories and bring to the surface how little of talent coach Fisher has had and yet he's still managed to average 7 wins over 4 years.

Not making excuses for Fisher because I expected at least one winning season and the 6-10 year had me furious for months after. I'm a Fisher fan but at the time I wouldn't have minded one bit if they fired him after the 6-10 debacle. The truth is I was thinking on bitter emotions and lack of patience being a Rams fan. (9 straight loosing seasons the longest current streak in the NFL )

The problem is now after all the turnover, I see this as Fisher's Roster but coach has a rookie QB, practically a rookie OC in Boras and the WR's are a mixed box of young cracker jacks that we have no idea how they will perform as a group. Kendricks, Britt and Austin need to stay healthy and really step up their game.

Fisher could field another team of 7 to 8 wins with the this young offense. Right now for me its up in the air or better known as ground Gurley.. Just saying, not predicting anything in stone until I see some camp and preseason coverage.

I want to echo the praise from all other posters.

Did anyone else notice how high TruJo was ranked in effectiveness by Florida? Over even Jenkins several times.

Tru and Jenks played together for 4 seasons and I did rank Tru over Jenks twice but it was close for the 2 seasons I gave Tru the nod.

2012 Jenkins over Tru

Jenks started 14 games with 4 picks, 14 Passes Defensed, 64 tackles had a pretty good rookie season playing the opposite side of C.Finnigan...
Tru only started 3 games in spot relief was the small school kid learning his craft..

2013 Tru over Jenkins

Tru started 12 games with 3 picks, 12 Passes Defensed 58 tackles.
Jenks started 16 games with 1 pick, another 14 Passes Defensed, 54 tackles

In 4 less games I thought Tru had a slight edge in overall play with less snaps but enough to give him the nod. Could've went either way here.

2014 Jenkins over Tru

Jenks started 13 games with 2 picks, 5 Passes Defensed, 55 tackles... obvious selection
Tru started 5 games with 3 picks, 6 Passes Defensed, 33 tackles

2015 Tru over Jenkins

Tru started 14 games with 7 picks, 17 Passes Defensed, 58 tackles
Jenks started 15 games with 3 picks, 15 Passes Defensed, 56 tackles

In 2015 I thought Tru edged Jenks out with his sticky mitts snatching up 7 Interceptions so I gave him the nod. I wouldnt agrue if several thought Jenks was the better corner all 4 seasons but I made the list based on stats and memory.

I thought Snead and Fisher kept the right corner but not so much it was an easy bye bye Jenks for me.. Honestly like most, I wanted both players signed to long term deals and yet here we are about to lease Tru for one season on the franchise tag. Such is life in the NFL.

It was a tedious time consumer to put together but well worth it when fellow Rams fans break it down and point out facts, tidbits of knowledge, memories and how many players are still in the league from 2011 etc..

Man this team was bad and it wasn't like they were just bad the year before Fisher and Snead got here. HISTORICALLY bad.

I have faith in the rebuild and I think some of these players have a chance to be above average for their careers. One of the things that stinks is FA and dealing with some of that developed talent now leaving for greener dollars. I believe that even with no change in the W-L record this team is on the rise and will compete year in and year out very soon. Looking for a 10 year+ playoff run and I fully believe Goff and Gurley will lead us to a SB win or two.

Rebuilding = sacrificing being competitive, and Fisher and Snead never really committed to that, IMO. The salt water of inheriting/dumping bad contracts, aging and talent poor roster with no reinforcements on the horizon, Spags and Devaney had to swallow that.

F & S inherited a thin roster, but they've continued the process begun in 2009, adding talent and churning the roster, rather than blowing it all up and starting from scratch. The RG3 trade put them on an accelerated schedule, and Fisher had several advantages his predecessors didn't; an expanded scouting staff, hiring his own GM and a owner that will sign the checks for any assistant coach he wants to bring on.
