Nice.

P.S. Don't know what happened, it was showing when I posted it. Is this some kind of April Fools madness?

Yes! I quite love bringing those players in. All of those players are ones whom we should be very interested with.

Cool to see who we are having visit us, but remember these visits can be for many different reasons. Point being, if you are a big fan of a certain player and we have a visit scheduled please do not get fully hype and expect us to definitely draft the player because for whatever reason or another we do not get them....

Not gonna lie, I wouldn't hate Austin/Patterson/Vaccaro at 16, Fluker at 22, and a trade up for Kyle Long in the second...

I never look to much into these pre-draft visits, I'm sure most of them are smoke and mirrors.

2012 pre-draft visits.
Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State
Dwight Bentley, CB, Louisiana-Lafayette
Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State
[hil]Michael Brockers, DT, LSU[/hil]
Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina
Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State
Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
[hil]Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama[/hil]
Mychal Kendricks, LB, Cal
Ronald Leary, OG, Memphis
Kelechi Osemele, OT, Iowa State
Rueben Randle, WR, LSU
Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
Brian Stahovich, P, San Diego State
Alameda Ta'amu, DT, Washington
Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State

But, out of interest, last year we ended up getting 2 out of our pre-draft visits which 2 would you take from this year's group of athletes?

I think my choices are Menelik Watson (well I am a Brit and I think Johnson and Fluker will be gone by 16) and either Quinton Patton or Bacari Rambo - even if it's just to see that name on the back of a Rams shirt ;)

Watson is a possibility, I think Snead and Fisher like him, but I don't think they want to pick an OT with a first round pick after signing Long. I think Kyle Long is more of a possibility (in the 2nd or 3rd).

If Richardson is there at 16 I think they'll take him. And there are a lot of reports that scouts/coaches have seen Quinton Patton on at least a couple of occasions, making me think he's a possibility (though he would be a mid to late rounder)

It's not so much who's on the list but who's missing that may give clues to the Rams draft.

How about that name?

We drafted at least 3 players that we visited last year. Of course we are not going to draft everyone on the list. Some will be gone, and some will not impress us, or be able to answer the questions we had about them. I don't think we waste visits for a smokescreen like many people do (not saying that you do), but I agree that we try to keep some visits quiet for strategic reasons--see Brian Quick last year. I think you can only do that for a couple of rounds.

It always seems like we'll have 3 or 4 guys come in for each round through the 4th or 5th that we think may be there when our picks come up. When I see that we have multiple rounds represented by a single position, then it seems like we will draft that position. Occasionally we will have a couple visits that may fall into that UDFA zone, and us showing that early interest may help to get that guy signed after the draft. These lists will make me change my mock drafts.

A couple deductions that I gleaned from this info is that we are targeting a WR in the third round, and we are going to pick a CB in this draft, so we are trying to look at guys apples to apples to see the separation of the prospects. I also see interest in the DL. It is pretty interesting that up to this point there are not many safeties that we are bringing in.

So, I guess that I read a lot into these lists, because I could go on and on, but I may be completely wrong on all of my assumptions. :what:

I'm liking the way you're looking into these visits Dr Ram, this is one of the reasons i'm thinking O-line in the first round if possible as one of our picks + best available athlete as for WR's Patton would be a great pickup, but I've got to be honest I'll have to do some research on Dobson & Vernon. I can see us picking up an early WR rounds 1/2 and later in the draft 4/5...

Another guy that I favor, Mr. Larry Warford - G, Kentucky. Won't make it to the third.

Hell, yes! I hope he gets major consideration for our pick in the second round, if not #22.

Warford did not allow a quarterback sack all year. Graded out by his team at 90.3 percent for the season, and he totaled 48 knockdown blocks.

Any chance he makes it to #46? I think he would make a great 2nd round pick if the Rams don't take Warmack or Fluker in the 1st!

I think it's possible, but if Warford, Cooper, and Fluker are all gone, who knows. I think he goes in the top 15 in the second, but it depends on team needs.

Franklin visited the Rams today. Very familiar with this kid. Very fast, makes the most out of each run, great vision. Not real big, but runs hard, good hands. Had a fumble problem until last year. Left UCLA as all-time rushing leader. Also a very intelligent kid. Wants to be the Mayor of L.A. someday.

I like him a lot as well. I think he's being ranked a bit low. Think he had some fumble issues early on but he looks like a real nice NFL back to me. Now where.....that is another issue. Could he slide to the 3rd?

Sounds like he is really rising. I thought he was a third rounder before, maybe a second now. I love the player, probably seen every game he's ever played, but my issue is that he is really similar to Pead in size and style. He's a play-maker, that's for sure, he probably had the best day of all the backs at the Senior Bowl, although he certainly wasn't the highest touted. He's a good to very good pass protector, especially for his size.
