The Los Angeles Rams intend to have Jalen Ramsey available immediately after acquiring him.
Coach Sean McVay revealed that the Rams plan to have Ramsey ready to play in Week 7 despite his month-long absence.

Ramsey has been bothered by a back injury and has not played since Week 3. There has been some speculation that he’d been using the injury as an excuse to avoid the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the fact that he’s apparently expected to play the week the Rams acquire him will only fuel those theories.
In spite of this, Ramsey had appeared on track to play for the Jaguars before being traded. Given how compromised the Rams would be in the secondary without him, they really need him to hit the ground running.

Jalen Ramsey “overjoyed” with trade to Rams, hopes to play Sunday

Jalen Ramsey got his wish to get out of Jacksonville. Tuesday’s trade to the Los Angeles Rams has left the Pro Bowl cornerback “overjoyed.”
“I was overjoyed. I was super, super excited,” Ramsey said in meeting with reporters in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. “A fresh start and a fresh start at a place like L.A. with the culture that I’ve heard about here. I’m a young guy still. Everybody around here is kind of young. I feel like it will be a little bit more understanding. So I was honestly just super excited. Words can’t really describe it.”

The Rams sent three draft picks, two of which were first-round selections, to Jacksonville on Tuesday to pull off the trade. Ramsey asked for a trade from the Jaguars and said he believed the team and himself had lost respect for each other. Now he gets a fresh start with the Rams.
“I like the defense,” Ramsey said. “I like the philosophy. I think I’ll fit in well. I’m going to bring a lot of passion, energy and heart to the team, to the game. So I’m excited to get out there whenever that may be and do my thing see how I mesh well with the guys.”
Ramsey will have just a couple of days to get ready to play for his new team Sunday in Atlanta. Despite sickness and back issues (if legitimate) that supposedly kept him from playing the last several weeks with the Jaguars, Ramsey said he hopes to be able to play against the Falcons.
“I hope so. We’re going to see, though,” Ramsey said.
“I’m sure not only myself but the coaches and everybody will come up with a good game plan and if it’s smart for me to go out there on Sunday, then I will. I’ve been missing football. I love football, so I would love that, but at the end of the day, we do have to be smart as well so I don’t know. I can’t tell you yes or no right now.”

As far as his health goes, Ramsey, shockingly, is feeling better now that he’s on the west coast.
“I’m feeling pretty good, getting better and better every day,” Ramsey said. “Feeling pretty good, really.”

If he is physically ready to go, stick him on Julio and let's roll.

This is about as must win as it gets.

He makes a lot of money, we just gave up 3 picks for him, he should be rested.

Tell him go cover Julio the whole game and don't worry about much else, scheme wise.

Ill find it pretty disappointing if he doesn't play Sunday.

This is a perfect post for the Ramsey discussions already going on.

I think Hill will play well also.

Wade excels at allowing his players to do what they do best. Get Jalen going, but put Troy in manageable situations, and get young David Long a taste of that SonOfBum D. We got to get these young guys ready for primetime while Aqib &JJ recuperate.

Gonna be interesting to see how Ramsey meshes with his new team mates.

How does he manifest the “we not me” philosophy?

This is a guy whose nature is to call out teammates who aren’t performing well. He did it a lot in JAX. He also called out opposing players.

I’m curious to see how he reacts if the offense stinks it up. Does he speak out on Goff like he did on Bortles?

Last time he spoke about Goff he called him average to above average. Wonder what happens if Goff keeps having 60 passer rating games.

Well, so far the locker room culture has been maintained even with the perceived problem children coming to the Rams. But I do know winning has a way of keeping players happy. So we need to win to keep them happy. Losing has a way of bringing out the frustrations. Sometimes in very bad ways.

Say what you want about Fisher but the constant losing didn't affect the locker room. He had them so accustomed to losing, they were able to just brush it off. No big deal. No locker room issues over it. Did I just say that like its a good thing?

I am sure that defensive captain safety Eric Weddle will help Ramsey get a crash course in practice the next three days & during the game Sunday. I do not see any reason for any concerns with Ramsey this Sunday. Better save those concerns for Marqui Christian.

Our defense is going to be better with more aggressive CB play.

Talib had been hurt for a few games. I remember watching the TB game with other members of the board and we were discussing the cushion that Talib was giving. It was clear then that he couldn't plant, change direction and drive on the ball. It seemed like a foot injury of some kind (bad turf toe?), but I didn't see the official word. Let's hope he's back for the playoffs.

And Peters was a good trade away. He's a talented player who played hard for us. He also played injured for us much of the last season. He was a good Ram.

However, he's not a press corner and needed to depart so we could move forward with this defense. I think we made a mistake just expecting Donald to do everything for us. The move toward a more aggressive secondary (fingers crossed!) will serve the pass rush well.

I think the dink and dunk offense the Whiners used against us must have been infuriating. We've definitely responded.

Let's Go Rams!
