Ramsey got burnt a couple of times in the first half but limited Adams to three catches, albeit for good yardage. Ramsey had good coverage on the two longer balls but Adams made great catches on both. Win some, lose some. Pretty much shut him down in the second half.

That's my issue with PFF grades, they don't seem to take into consideration what can reasonably be expected of a player on any given play.

No way Ramsey belonged in the bottom five on defense.

Was Durant really that bad? He looked good earlier in the year before the injury.

Need more of Kyren Williams.

I hope they can re-sign Gregg Gaines. But I imagine they signed BBIII to replace him.

Troy Hill is one of PFFs top corners. He’s playing well.

Coleman Shelton finally fully healthy? I hope this is a sign.

Hill and Durant made a difference in the secondary regardless of Durant's rating, he was better as the game went on. Bobby Brown had a good game too in his limited snaps and I thought Keir Thomas did a nice job securing the edge as he made some plays and seem to stop the Raiders from running the jet sweep to that side.

PFF is a joke. Their analysts don't understand American Football. They look at Gaines and because he's not pressuring the QB they mark him down. But it shows their lack of understanding of how schemes are played. Many times his role was to control the A gaps to stop the run. As such his job isn't to penetrate and for that they mark him down. There are a lot of examples like that in all positions. It's why NFL coaches just roll their eyes when it comes to PFF. PFF is strictly for the media people who don't know anymore than PFF but think PFF are experts.

Bobby Brown is going to replace A'Shawn Robinson in the interior DL rotation. When AD retires Gaines will be the primary DT unless they draft another AD. Brown has a long way to go before he's really a starter.

Troy Hill probably stays because he's one of Morris' buddies. IMO it was McVay that finally got Kendrick benched. Kendrick was drafted to be STs and depth, not a starter. He played like a rookie 6th round pick but Morris started him over Rochell who played well before he got hurt.

Coen is leaving, no loss at all. Maybe he can be persuaded to take Morris with him.

I thought Akers, Durant, and Mayfield deserved better scores. Akers fought for some tough yardage on short gains especially on our first TD drive. That'll skew the YPC/reception average.

If Durant doesn't get swallowed up on that swing pass/pitch he still had another blocker waiting to hit a player. I don't recall him allowing completions as he had good coverage.

Dude Mayfield. Yes there were a couple passes dropped or caught out of bounds, and one was skipped, but he carried this team to win the game.

I thought this was SS Taylor Rapp's best game all season, maybe one of the best in his 4 yr career. DC Morris had Rapp playing up to the LOS all night! Nick Scott appeared to be MIA all night. Hill had his best game of 2022.

LV offense attacked the Left edge of our defense all night with their best OL side. Mike Hoecht had issues. OLB Hoecht was left on an Island much of the time outside with little support. OLB Kier Thomas flashed as Hoecht's releif. Kier Thomas needs to see a lot more snaps in the future.

Been a while since I have seen Big Rob manhandled so badly. It sure looked like DE Crosby is the second coming of the Rams #75 The Deacon.

I think the Rams need to make a real effort to bring Nsekhe back as a backup to Alaric Jackson.. AND probably draft another tackle, just in case.
Coleman Shelton played decent and is probably an acceptable Center to start next season.. but I hope they draft a reasonable prospect.
Bobby Brown getting reps is good.. he needs more and to show a little more.

I would bet that both Allen & Shelton will start in 2023 IF both can remain healthy (something yet to be seen). If Shelton can remain healthy & continues to play well in the next 4 games Rams might give Shelton a contract extension since he will be a UFA at the conclusion of the 2023 season. They will need Shelton if they keep Allen to start @ OC in 2023.

If Allen does continue with injuries they will just shift Shelton to center & have a reserve RG on full-time standby ready. Who that reserve RG will be is unknown. They seem to prefer veteran Oday Aboushi @ reserve RG. He might stick around until Logan Bruss proves he can be an NFL-caliber OG.

Rams will be in the hunt for a starting LG. Current veteran starting LG Matt Skura might figure in as a short-term #10 OL'er (LG/OC) but Carberry had Tremayne Anchrum & Chandler Brewer working in @ reserve LG in OTCs/ TC & preseason. 2023 is the last season Anchrum is under contract. Brewer will need to be signed back to a contract @ both OG positions.

Posted this before......37 yr old Ty Nsekhe needs to remain a serious option as an economy reserve swing OT for the 2023 season.

I would sure like to see LT Joseph Noteboom's PFF grades for 6 games he started in 2023. But it seems his 2022 grades were far below his 2021 grades. :bueller:

Noteboom got hurt early in the season. But because of all the injuries, he tried to play through it for several games until he tore his Achilles. He should return from that and I have to wonder if his playing injured factored into his Achilles tear due to compensation. When healthy Noteboom is a quality LT and IMO I will take Whitworth's and Havenstein's evaluation of Noteboom over PFF every day of the week.

They have two very good OTs in Noteboom and Jackson. Jackson played very well at OG so I would start him at LG with Noteboom at LT next year. Then move Jackson to RT in 2024 when they move on from Havenstein. That was not an anomaly against Cox. I've been saying for years, how Havenstein struggles against speed and power. The only difference is that the media pointed it out repeatedly in this game. In today's NFL there is little difference in the edges (left or right). You need two quality OT to protect both edges and the Rams have that in Noteboom and Jackson. The Rams have the makings of a very good OL for either Stafford or Mayfield. Durant looks like the real deal. I'd rather have Michel at this point than Akers. His fumbling is getting worrisome.

I'd like to see a RB group next year of Williams, Michel, and Powell. WRs of Kupp, Jefferson, Tutu, Skowronek, McCutcheon, and Harris. OL of Noteboom, Jackson, Allen, Shelton, Havenstein, Bruss, Thomas and Anchrum. DL Floyd, AD, Gaines, Hardy, Hoecht, Brown, Williams, and drafted edge. LBs Wagner, Jones, Howard, TBD. Secondary Ramsey, Rochell, Durant, Lake, Fuller, Scott, Kendrick, and Yeast.

When you look at the core roster this is a very good team if used properly. Morris showed that if he plays his defense aggressively they can get those 3 and outs. This defense can dominate when played properly. Where the fuck has it been all year? I'll tell you where, it's been playing a base prevent by Morris that is where. Starting a 6th round rookie CB over Durant and Rochell. Playing Rapp out of position. This defense DESERVES a DC that will play to its strengths, which is to attack, that is how it was built. Morris plays scared.

I guess I was surprised how innovative Baker was when he was running for his life. He did a great job of finding relief valves underneath, which were like a successful running play. I also saw multiple uses of sidearm throws, and even a very difficult sidearm maneuver when running to his left…he flipped his hips and found Benny Skow for a nifty 9 yard pick up. I hope Sean doesn’t get too complex with him, and allows him to use that wonderful “Wussell” vibe he has on off schedule throws.

Forgive the unicorn attachment…don’t know how it got on there, and didn’t know how to get it off either…fat fingered apparently. But…it may be fitting given the fairy tale game Mr Baker had on Thursday.
