The Los Angeles Rams are just over two weeks away from starting their offseason workouts.
On Friday, the NFL announced offseason program dates for all 32 teams, and the Rams are set to open theirs in Oxnard on April 18. They will hold organized team activities (OTAs) on May 31, June 1, June 3, June 7, June 8 and June 10, during which they will be permitted to run 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills — albeit without any live contact.
The Rams are also scheduled to hold a mandatory minicamp from June 14-16, something that head coach Jeff Fisher has traditionally shied away from. He said during NFL owners meetings last month that he could potentially cancel the minicamp if there is strong participation during the team’s earlier offseason activities.
During the first phase of the offseason program, which lasts two weeks, teams will be restricted to strength and conditioning and rehabilitation. The second phase, which lasts three weeks, allows for individual player instruction and drills, as well as separate practices for the offense and defense.
The two units may only face each other in OTAs during the third phase.
