Where Robert Quinn ranks among the NFL's best
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/post/_/id/19771/where-robert-quinn-ranks-among-the-nfls-best

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- Earlier this offseason, the NFL Network unveiled its annual rankings of the NFL's 100 best players. The St. Louis Rams had just two representatives on the list in the form of defensive tackle Aaron Donald (No. 92) and end Robert Quinn (No. 44).

It was Donald's first appearance on the list, of course, on the heels of just his first NFL season. It's a ranking that in time will almost certainly improve. Of more interest to Rams fans might have been Quinn's fall in the list. After jumping in at No. 13 in 2014, Quinn fell to 44th after his production dropped off a bit last season.

But does that mean Quinn isn't as dominant a player? Over at Grantland.com, Bill Barnwell argues that Quinn's drop off in production was more an exception than a rule. In his own rankings of the top 100 players, Quinn checked in at No. 19.

Barnwell makes the case that Quinn was the victim of a strange start to the season when nobody on the Rams was getting any sacks. Of course, much of that stemmed from the lack of pass-rushing opportunities that came because the Rams simply couldn't stop the run consistently. An improvement in that regard plus Donald's emergence should indeed allow Quinn to get back into the mid to upper teens in sacks.
