Morning Ram-blings: The interview process
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/post/_/id/16395/morning-ram-blings-the-interview-process

INDIANAPOLIS -- Anyone who has been around the NFL will tell you that the two most valuable things a team can get at the scouting combine have nothing to do with running 40 yards as fast as you can.

The two most important pieces of the process are gathering medical information and going through the formal interview process with the prospects in attendance. Teams get 60 15-minute interviews with players but actually speak to nearly all of the prospects in an informal setting as well.

At TheMMQB.com, Robert Klemko took a deep and interesting look at that interview process.

The NFL interview process is nothing like the ones you get for most jobs. The questions are strange and the pressure is high. In some ways, it's a form of organized NFL speed dating.

But it's critically important for the teams to get answers to questions about all they've learned about players throughout the scouting process. How a player fares when asked to diagram a play on a white board can make a big difference when it's all said and done.
