Morning Ram-blings: Chargers firm on stadium issue
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-ra...ing-ram-blings-chargers-firm-on-stadium-issue

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- The San Diego Chargers have spent 14 years trying to get a new stadium in place in San Diego. Those efforts have run the gamut from hopeful to skeptical to apparently frustrated.

That frustration came through loud and clear Monday when the Chargers posted a statement on their website in which they made it clear to the San Diego Stadium Committee that if they're going to put forth the effort, they had better be sincere.

Chargers reporter Eric Williams covered that ground in this piece Monday afternoon.

Obviously, this isn't directly related to the St. Louis Rams but the connection is easy to make since the Rams join the Chargers and Oakland Raiders as teams in search of a new stadium.

The statement from the Chargers doesn't hint at anything so much as it comes out and says them. The Chargers acknowledge that they're monitoring the Los Angeles situation and goes as far as to make clear that they don't think it would be fair for another team to infringe on their share of the Los Angeles market.

What does it mean for the Rams? That's hard to say at this point. The possibility still exists that a team like San Diego could be a second occupant in the Hollywood Park stadium project that's partially owned by Rams owner Stan Kroenke. But it's also worth noting that there might be other options for the Chargers to explore in Los Angeles should they decide they want to go that direction.

As always, there's still a lot that has to happen before we have definitive answers on how it all plays out.
