Morning Ram-blings: No NFL in L.A. in 2015
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/post/_/id/14899/morning-ram-blings-no-nfl-in-l-a-in-2015

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- Last week in this space, after the San Diego Chargers announced they were going to stay put in 2015, I wrote a piece in which we examined the very clear writing on the wall.

Put simply, it was clear at that time that nobody was going to be moving to Los Angeles next year. There was no reason for the Chargers to make such a proclamation and forfeit whatever positioning they might have with the risk of someone else -- namely the St. Louis Rams or Oakland Raiders -- moving there first.

Over the weekend, the situation gained even more clarity when ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that the Chargers' announcement was spurred by a phone call commissioner Roger Goodell made to all three teams informing them that a move this year was not going to have the league's support.

That should come as no surprise given what the Chargers had already done.

In conjunction with that, stltoday.com columnist Bernie Miklasz also had an interesting piece on the stadium efforts being made in St. Louis with direct quotes from Governor Jay Nixon on what shape those plans could take.

Again, none of this should be surprising but it guarantees nothing in terms of 2016 and beyond. There's still a long way to go on this and all options remain on the table just not for 2015.

We revisited three things to watch from the Rams' loss in W2W4 revisited. ... Rams center Scott Wells is injured and has struggled but the Rams apparently are sticking with him. ... This week's Turning Point play takes a closer look at receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s 80-yard touchdown catch.

Here's Kevin Seifert's weekly officiating report.

On Insider, Mike Sando examines Insider Philadelphia's offseason quarterback options, which has nothing to do with the Rams except you could apply many of the same thoughts to what the Rams face in trying to upgrade at quarterback this offseason.

At 101sports.com, Randy Karraker provides his 10 takeaways from the Rams' most recent loss.

At stltoday.com, Jeff Gordon writes that the Rams keep making the same old mistakes.

As it stands, the Rams would pick 12th in the 2015 NFL draft.
