(On the transition out ‘training camp mode’ to the regular season)
“Really the difference between yesterday and today is that we don’t have any evening meetings, so we still have a lot of work to do. Typically when you break camp, you move everything up a little earlier, and that’s what we’ll do next week. And we’ve got a short week – a very short week next week.”
(On CB Cortland Finnegan)
“Obviously, starting with off the field, really since early in his career, he’s been just one of those model type players in the community. He spends a lot of time, effort as far as that’s concerned. Then on the field, practice field, meeting rooms and game time, he’s a pro and he works hard at it. He serves as a good example for the younger players. It was very important that we bring him and get him involved last year at the time in which we did.”
(On the defense facing Broncos QB Peyton Manning)
“It’s going to be a great challenge for us. Again, we’re going to just watch them play, let them play. This is kind of a matchup game for us. We’ll do a few things but you don’t fool him. He knows where to go with the football. I’ve faced him a lot of times, and he’s very, very competitive whether it’s the third preseason game or whether it’s the AFC Championship game.”
