When I got my orders to Hawaii way back when I thought good rice was Uncle Ben's. Place changes your palate. :thumbsup1:

Think what I miss most cuisine-wise is the breakfast with the portugese sausage, rice, eggs over easy, etc. Used to take the wife to breakfast every weekend when we lived on the windward side. Man I miss it. It's hard to find good portugese sausage in Missouri and the breakfast place we would frequent did 'em up just right with that slight char. :woozy2:

Let's hope they announce the player numbers soon.

I've got my eye on a Konata Mumpfield jersey. :p

Miss those plate lunches when I lived on Oahu in the 90's. Japanese girls everywhere from Japan living in their parents properties. Island life. Two scoops rice and one scoop mac salad.

My buddy from Kauai used to make a potato salad that had spaghetti noodles cut real short. He said it was the true macaroni salad of the islands. I’ve never been a fan of most Hawaiian Mac salad, but this stuff was KILLER. It was like a combination of potato salad and Mac salad.

@Selassie I have you ever had this?

There's so many variations.

The thing is.... Mac salad is basically a required side with your meal there. I love it. The real Hawaiian Mac salad is pretty basic and needs carrots (shredded obviously) in it. It works great in the tropical climate and it isn't expensive. Lately I've been making it 808 style, but Cammy prefers more ingredients.

I know the Mac and Potato combo salad and it tastes awesome. It's not the same as the required Mac... it's an extra that not every Local likes. Regular Mac salad is basically almost like a religious requirement as a side. The combo you are talking about is like a special side. I do like it though, just not all of the time like simple Mac.
