Two things were eye opening:
1) is that THE Hannah Storm? I haven’t seen her in years, probably decades. Good for her, still working.
2) is that the chick (Mina) who does commentary during the preseason games? Shame on her.
Mina is a Ram hating Seahawks fan and she doesn’t hide it. But, just in general the rams still are an under appreciated team in general. It’s hard to understand why. They’ve been around as long as most of the original teams. They’ve been in two recent Super Bowls, always play well under McVay and have a top two coach. But the media still disregards them as if they are on the Jaguars level. I actually think the Jags got more respect years ago under Coughlin. Despite the greatness of the GSOT talking heads still laughed at the Rams because they felt their success was unsustainable. It’s bizarre.

And when he interviews, he can slap his new SB ring down on the table. That should do it.

He does that with the Dolphins, and forget just getting the job: he can consider it a fucking lifetime contract if he makes the playoffs.

Wait, the thread title says “Ass Celebration Thread”? Shouldn’t this be in No Pirates All Booty?

Yeah, I wasn't in charge of it. Would've kept the "Kicking" after the "Ass". I don't mind having the title changed; I messed up on the location (which was why the title was changed in the first place). Just want the Texan-sized ass to be kicked, you know?

we have the defense which is really nice. teams are neutralizing verse it seems, Aron Donald always found a way to disrupt.... he will too hopefully. only 14 points, good defense or not it is a bit concerning. we can kick field goals, never came up. good first win, however. let's see how we go against Tennessee. Go, Rams.

A "Shula" in Miami would sell tix....
I hope you're wrong. Shula really coming on strong w/ this D, held a pretty good HOU team to 9 stinky points. Dialed up a safety blitz (!), something we haven't seen here in a while... wait I think I saw one late last year.
But he's got this team humming, no let off from the end of last season--we have almost always had defensive struggles the first few games, like no sacks, turn overs, etc., even in the AD99 era. But Shula has apparently kept this team's motor humming in the offseason.

I'll say one thing in Young's favor... He seems to be consistently strong on the contain. The dude is aware of it and has great lateral movement on top of it. Not the greatest rusher and never will be. But I certainly appreciate his game.

I've been bitching about McVay's preseason approach for years so I agree with much of what you're saying. But he's got a title doing that shit, and we're 1-0, so I just accept that no coach is perfect and they all have their annoying quirks. And for all the stuff I do knock him on I am well aware of how great he is. Even as I am irritated as hell that we can't seem to push for a top seed and get that playoff bye. :laugh3:

BY was excellent and is an upgrade over Hoecht at that rover roll.. but we lose him on the edge. Need Stewart to grow up quick. Also.. I guess that's why Fiske is playing edge more. Maybe that's one reason Turner had a quiet game? Idk.

BY breaking up a pass to a TE was impressive, very athletic stuff. He's actually surprising me a little by how fluid he is.. I've felt he was a little stiff before.

Puka continues to add to his legendary Warrior status. Just when you think he couldn't possibly be any more of a Warrior... he proves that completely wrong.

I'm so thankful he's a Ram. He's plays football like it is supposed to be played. It's a fucking joy watching him play.

We've been a notoriously slow starting team practically every year with McVay. Every win early on, especially against a playoff contending team is great since we're most dangerous in the latter half of the season.
For sure!
McVay is 7-2 in season openers, I think whatever his method is, it sure seems to be working

That’s a great defense the Texans have. Plus the first game rust. Offense got better as game progressed. I’m sure going forward, the offense will continue to get better and score more points.

That said, Shelton is a concern. I didn’t mind the upgrade at Center, but Shelton is an upgrade in play calls only. He’s play in slightly below par. We could have (should have) gotten better for what we paid. On the plus side, both OTs played excellent.

You guys are hilarious. You acknowledge he's won a title and we're 1-0. In addition, a few pages back it was posted that from 2017 - 2022, McVay was 15-3 over the first 3 games of the season. It appears he mostly has a history of strong starts.

In the last 2 years we've been plagued with injuries to start the season so that mostly explains the slow starts.

Despite the historical strong starts and the fact he's won a SB, you want to call his preseason approach an "imperfection" rather than admitting you may be wrong. Hilarious!

I'm actually just giving you a hard time Merlin because I don't care that much. If McVay reversed course I'd be fine with it, but.....is there any evidence - not opinion or feelings, but actual evidence - that playing your starters in preseason correlates to stronger starts?

I presume you missed where I said "But he's got a title doing that shit, and we're 1-0, so I just accept that no coach is perfect and they all have their annoying quirks. And for all the stuff I do knock him on I am well aware of how great he is."

No coach is perfect. Not even McVay. And as a fan I reserve the right to call them out on what I feel is appropriate. If you want to clap along with everything the Rams do and sing kum-bay-ya, knock yourself out.
