She was a very kind and dignified First Lady. Pretty amazing to be the wife AND mother of a US President, regardless of your political affiliation. Barbara was solid as a rock. She was loving, and never spoke unkind words or attacked political enemies.

I heard a story yesterday that was interesting. Mrs. Bush lost a daughter, Robin, to leukemia when the little girl was 4, I believe. Barbara was devastated, of course, and never really recovered. Her hair went white prematurely, and she said she would never color it, just for vanity. She kept it white to remember Robin.

Maybe now she is reunited with Robin in heaven. And her hair is soft and brown. And leukemia has no place. And joy fills their reunion for eternity.

Having lost a child, I know a little about gestures like that.

It’s definitely a club I wish I weren’t a part of.

She was strong and graceful even in turbulent times...

I know, buddy. I almost lost my son to a brain tumor a few years ago, so I had to run the thoughts through my mind for about a year, that I might have to bury a child.

Selfishly, I'm glad I did not have to join your ranks, but I am sorry you have to endure that pain. Prayers for you, and your wife, Mack.

I always admired Barbara Bush.

First class person. A role model for most.

I wasn’t an adult when she and her husband were in office so I don’t have any time to know anything of her really and I’m a bit shocked because i never heard anybody speak anything of her before especially the nice things until she passed? Is this just me? Or maybe I didn’t notice?
