I question which sports Californians like more, baseball or football? The Rams left for St Louis, the Raiders came from Oakland, then returned. The Rams returned. The Chargers started in LA and went to San Diego. Now came back to L.A.. The Dodgers haven't budged and neither have the Padres. I can understand Dodger fans. They win. The Padres? 58 years and 9 postseason appearances. Sure 2 World Series but no wins. The Chargers had 22 postseasons (counting 5 in the AFL) in 66 years. Either way, double the Padres output for postseason but just 1 SB, a loss. I know Oakland/San Francisco is also California but.......the A's are moving out of state just like the Raiders, who are experienced movers. In my mind, the only thing that explains the LA/SD/MLB/NFL thing is more of a baseball lean than football? And is it more a SD than LA thing? Just wondering.

I guess it's a question about L.A. I never heard of any problems with the baseball teams but the NFL? Lot's of moving around

UCLA has been so terrible lately I bet Rams have gone ahead of them.
I know the Dodgers will never move. They play in an iconic stadium with tradition. And the weather is usually pretty good. They're always near or at the top in attendance. Ever attend a night game there in the summer? Every time I have its been perfect weather. Upper 60's to low 70's when it gets dark. Day games can get a little toasty.

Obviously, the Dodgers are #1, followed by the Lakers. But I'd think, with the success McVay's Rams have had, and with that gorgeous stadium, they ought to be #3. Depending on what the Lakers and Rams do the next 5 years, might actually climb to #2. No?
Very possible especially the way USC has been playing lately and more and more people are not liking basketball with all offense and no defense.
Here's some data. Dodgers have not always been #1. Rams are #3 professional team, with lower popularity than in 2023, and with a huge gap between them and #2.

Any NFL team really should be number 2, but, LA has (post 1970s) been a kind of bad NFL city.
I've been reading comments from yesterdays USC game
it was a whole 93 degrees , it was to hot ,
but don't the Dodgers play in that same 93 degrees all summer long , and still average 50,000 a game
but maybe I'm wrong maybe, Los Angeles is the only city in America that reaches 93 degrees in August
they we only playing San Jose State , another California team , tickets were selling for 6 bucks apiece , and still , only like 7 people showed up

In LA it is dependent on success and can vary.

USC in the Big 12 may hurt them and UCLA has always been most popular for Basketball
Many non alumni will be USC FB & UCLA BB. I can see the Rams passing both with continued success.

I had season tix for Rams and went to SC games too but it's brutal.
No real cover except up high.
93 is over 100 on the field level and miserable in those seats in the sun.
Agree that was a poor showing.
