2019- 9-7 no playoffs despite 2 teams with same record in and 1 game behind 2 other teams in at 10-6. One missed FG was the difference between 9-7 and 10-6

Prior to McVay, it had been 14 years since a Rams team won 9 or more games

It took Spagnolo 3 seasons to win 10 games

Between Spags and Linehan they won 6 games in 3 years 2007-2009

The Rams have won 33 games in the last 3 seasons. Only the Saints have more wins in the NFC during that time frame (37) and only the Patriots (36) and Chiefs (34) have more in AFC.

Rams “only” scored 394 points in 2019, they scored a total of 500 in Fishers last 2 seasons combined.

In the 3 year McVay era, the Rams have scored 1400 points, You would have to go back to the previous 5 seasons to reach 1400 points

Goff only threw 22 TD passes, have to go back to 2006 to have a QB throw more, Bulger (24)

Goff has 82 TD passes in 3 seasons with McVay, the Rams as a team had only 88 TD passes in the Fisher era, 5 seasons

Goff threw 16 INT while in the 10 years prior to McVay the conservative Rams threw 167 INT, almost 1.7 per game

Goff 86.5 passer rating was higher than any Rams team since Bulger in 2006 (91.5)

I think a lot of teams would love to trade positions with us. But I’m pretty happy with where we are and where we’re going

This year was disappointing but not surprising.
9-7 is not a disaster however.
The lines, year to year, between 11-5 and 7-9 are very thin.

just my opinion and some might disagree but we have been extremely spoiled over the last couple of years. I remember when we could never get past 8-8 with Fish. We have a down year coming off a super bowl appearance at 9-7 and everyone loses their mind. Honestly the game day threads are unbearable, I swear some people only get on to bad mouth players and coaches.

I felt strangely happy after yesterday's win. Turns out a winning season was very important to me.

As long as none of the Niners, Seahawks or Patriots win the Super Bowl this will have been a successful season in my eyes all around.

It's crazy how a missed field goal, a late collapse (SF) and a bad loss to the steelers would have us at 12-4.. We we're so bad for so long that now we get a taste of winning and 9-7 seems like the end of the world lol.

We have some salary cap issues that will change up the team a bit but yeah, we have a great core and a new stadium coming. Sucks to not be in the playoffs this year but feels good to know we have a chance every year for the foreseeable future.

Nice positive perspective.

Goff also finished 3rd in the NFL in passing with damn near 5000 yards (4638). This with 3 first year players and a bottom 5 oline.

I have already told everyone that if somehow the most evil thing happens

San Francisco against New England in the Super Bowl

That I will not acknowledge that the Super Bowl exists this year. I won't even acknowledge the commercials.

I will not watch any football related news during the two weeks of the game and if someone must post something on the board about the game, I will have to put you on ignore for the two weeks up to the game.

If that were to happen, I'd root for the Patriots without a 2nd thought.

Niners and Seahawks trump every other team for my hatred.

Patriots are the evil empire that cheat at every opportunity.

No way in hell would I ever root for them.

Snead and Demoff have their work cut out for the upcoming off season. Juggling cap space and UDFA's, who to let go, who to re-sign, what vet to sign, etc. is going to be rough.

They HAVE to upgrade the OL. Rams OL got manhandled and pushed around most of the season. some long time players are going to be gone. I fear Brockers is on top of that list. Gotta make money room somehow.

Going to be a busy off season.

Yeah, perspective changes things. What if the years were flipped and this was McVay's first season? I think we'd be pretty happy with the direction of the team. Scoring almost 400 points with a young QB who throws for over 4600 yards and 22 TD's. His first two years spoiled us. I didn't think that was possible after the previous dozen seasons prior to McVay.
