You are right but we are projecting here. And the one thing I fucking detest with QBs is when they look timid in the pocket. JJ gives out those vibes. Reminds me of the Goff, Bridgewater, Pickett types in that regard. Guys who would be all-universe if this was a flag league.
Game was in question and Michigan was being real creative to limit JJ making throws I felt. Opposite side McCord was putting the ball downfield and serving as a positive in his team pressing that result. That early INT definitely lost them the game. But in projecting these guys the above matters to me.
I don’t think the build of either of these teams are taken into account by people who don’t know the teams in depth.
The Buckeyes are built more finesse with a focus on the passing game and with the best WR core in the country. It’s no wonder McCord is going to have more chances to throw, especially for being down most of the game.
Michigan is built with the priority of being physical number 1, anything else comes second to this trait. If you can beat someone by running the ball why the hell would you pass it?
Remember, the team that has rushed for more yards has won this game the last 22 years. The result seems pretty simple, be physical and run the ball if you want to win.
