I will be starting this pool this again this year, as it's been pretty popular the last 2 years.

As soon as all teams have clinched and seedings and schedule comes out, I will post the list in this thread, along with a link for the entrance fee

It will be 10k to enter (place wager in sportsbook)

Participants will rank each team from 1 -14..with the higher ranking going to the team most likely to win the SB

Each playoff week you will get the amount of points based on your team rankings ( i.e.) if team you ranked an 8 gets the win over team you ranked 3, you get 8 points. If Team ranked 3 wins, you get 3 points) and send me your rankings via PM ( If not sure on how to send PM, just ask)

each week will have 1 tiebreaker game ( always the final game of the weekend) and you pick the total points scored

After the Super Bowl, player with the most win totals will win. Ties will be broken by lowest point differential in tie breaker games

Prizes determined by amount of entrys

Winner- 60%

2nd place- 30%

3rd place- 10%

I love this. I suck at it, but I must love the agony of defeat!

I run a confidence pool for the regular season. I like this concept but the way you explained it is a little confusing. Example: My #8 team loses to my #3 team so I get 3 points, right?
Second, count the total number of wins. Wouldn't everybody have the same number of wins? 14 teams, 7 games, 7 winners and 7 losers. What am I missing?
Where does the ranking of 1-14 come into play? You get the points assigned to the winning team? How do you rank the teams? 1 being the best sure shot or 14?
Explain the tie breaker please, give examples. I'm somewhat anal.
I'd like to do this with my players.
Thanks,

Second, count the total number of wins. Wouldn't everybody have the same number of wins? 14 teams, 7 games, 7 winners and 7 losers. What am I missing? I add up the total poinbts of wins, not how many wins
Where does the ranking of 1-14 come into play? You get the points assigned to the winning team? How do you rank the teams? 1 being the best sure shot or 14? 14 would be your pick to win the SB, 13 would be runner up, 12,11 would be teams in CCG all the way down to 1, which would be teams expected to lose on wild card weekend
Explain the tie breaker please, give examples. I'm somewhat anal. Tie breaker is total combined points scored in a specific game. I always used the last game of the weekend (i.e combined points from actual game =48.. you submit a tiebreaker score of 53... so a difference of 5) The lowest accumulated score over the course of the post season owns the tiebreaker
I'd like to do this with my players.
Thanks,

Thank you. One last question. So each week you pick the tie breaker game? What about two players are tied after your tie breaker?

I had the potential for a tie in my survivor league this weekend as two players were tied with our point system. I had to scramble to apply a tie breaker scenario just in case. I used my regular season final week tie breaker, best winning percentage to settle any potential ties. With Atlanta losing (my pick) the tie is very unlikely, but I'm glad I let everyone know what we would do before it happened.
