We certainly needed a 3rd Edge rusher...and he fits the criteria. Potentially our Edge rotation is going to be a huge upside for us. We already had depth now, but we needed someone to elevate to a strong #3 guy now that Hoeht is gone.

Explosive, a real technician, and surprising power for his size. He just lacks length. He could be the answer when Byron Young leaves.

An interesting chess piece for Shula in pass rushing situations. See if he's able to do much else and how well he'll set the edge against NFL lineman but he could be an exciting player. Kinda reminds me of Micah Parsons a bit. Undersized but fast and physical for his size.

According to Russini, 4.5 sacks came when not playing OLB.

Sounds like Jo Stew would be a great 2nd-4th and less than 5 weapon and could play off ball LB as well. Good scouting by the Rams.

The more I learn about Stewart the more I like the pick. I am still wondering if they are going to be able to address the CB room. Maybe there is more to the Ramey rumors than I thought.

"Plays like a pissed off pitbull" and "high motor" are definitely things I like.

We may have lost AD, but between last year and this year we are putting together a formidable group of pass rushers where the opposing O is going to have to start making less than ideal choices.

NOT a position of need, but this guy looks like a real football player. Can't pass up someone that good if they had him as the highest rated player remaining.
Literally every highlight he is tackling someone in the backfield, as a pass rusher or run defender.
I do wonder if they are thinking about playing him at ILB though.

I like the attitude of the defense we've put together over the last couple of years too. No one is going to want to play our defense.

Rams follow a pattern for their pass rushing defensive prospects. The formula has been a success every time so far.

(Edit: can you name each of these players...)

Love the fact he has the speed to run down some of these faster qb's
that have hurt us in the past.
5th Rusher that won't be outrun. very frustrating watching us come within inches of sacking Qb
only to have him escape for first down yardage.
like the role player pick.

They picked a tall pass catcher that covers the need they wanted to fil with Mike Evans last year. Now they get a Hoecht replacement with Josiah Stewart

This looks like a nice pick and good value.

man...

i'm really thinking inside linebacker...

this kids highlites are pretty impressive...

just imagine him exploding through a hole and addressing the running back with a wall of " here's a kiss for ya sweetheart,

now takethat shit back to the huddle"...

his power reminds me of verse, but his frame screams middle LB...

my 2 cents...

go rams

Doubt they still run it, but I used to run the old Georgia Military 3-5-3 Def
Olines used to hate it because it was very confusing never knowing
where the 4th or 5th rusher was coming from until after snap.
Down lineman running stunts or games on 90% of plays
3 Deep zone in back most of the time.

One reason I love we run 3/4. oline has to account
for fourth rusher and won't know for sure until after snap.
