It sounds like this was the Rams guy if they couldn’t trade down.

He has similarities to Travis Kelce. Measures similarly.

If this was next year I’d be all for it but I’d rather it be a reach on CB or LB.

I’ll trust Mcsnead but don’t see where this helps present or future when we have Higs and I know underwhelming Parkinson. Future wise we will need more than a TE once Staff sunsets.

I really, REALLY like this pick. Has one of the biggest ceilings in the draft for TE.

Rams liked him enough for R1 per Jourdan Rodrigue.

People who say we "reached" say that all the time and then the pick is a home run by the Rams.

As usual lately with a Ram draft pick, the more I read about him the more I like it.

Recent riser up draft boards

3 year starter, plenty of tape

Elite athleticism: 1st among TE's at combine in 40 time, 10 split, vert jump, and max speed

Great YAC

Senior Bowl standout

All-time Oregon TE leader in receptions and TD's

Great size and at 22 can add muscle to his frame with pro conditioning

Locals love him

I mean, what's not to like? The more I read, the more it sounds like another gem from Snead.

Normally I'm all for trusting the team and all that.
But is there a reason we should trust the Rams assessment and development at the TE position?

It's not just the Parkinson signing or insisting on Hunter Long. It's everything since McVay's arrival.
Higbee was a Fisher pick that the Rams tried to trade early on. None of the free agent or drafted TEs seem to have amounted to anything.

Also, our new TE coach, while undoubtedly a top-quality person, had his success as a college o-line coach. There's not much to show for his TE work.

Hoping for the best from Ferguson, but not expecting it. Fingers crossed.

I know a lot of you have been hyped about getting a TE for a couple of years, but for me, it was wasted chance to finish the defense with a playmaker. TE has never been a great position for the Rams AND this guy doesn't block?

Same, very true!
And more often than not the pick pans out.

I trust Snead with this stuff even sometimes when I don't get it, because the more I learn about these day two picks the more I like what they can bring to the Rams.
