We all seem to agree that we should utilize our tight ends more, but the question is in what other areas do we scale back to do this.

Also it has become very clear now that Higbee has become a dependable receiver, and like Everett, can be tough to bring down. The difference between them is that due to Everett’s athletic ability he can make it hard for the defender to get a good hold on him. Where as Higbee is more physical and is willing to run through the defender if need be. Everett is faster and can get more yards after the catch, and Higbee is someone you’d like to have in short yardage situations.

I think both can have an impact in the game, but the trick is to utilize them in such a way so as not to tip off the defense as to what kind of plays we’re running, like we did in the super bowl. I also would love to see both of them being used down in the red zone.

There are too many options at WR and RB. That's a good thing, even if it means less targets for the TEs. The Rams have a stellar WR trio (with a healthy Kupp). Most teams do not. Look at the teams that target their TE more than the league average and you'll probably see a comparitively inferior WR group than that of the Rams.

...I still think Higbee could be traded if Everett's blocking has improved and impressed enough. The deal could benefit everybody involved.

Gerald has to improve his blocking skills to the point that he becomes a weapon against the D in that regard. No team should ever be able to sell out against the pass when he is on the field due to his poor blocking ability. As unfortunate as the Super Bowl fiasco was, it may turn out to be a bitter-learned blessing in disguise that Gerald's liability as a blocker was exposed by BB. Now Gerald will b forced to maximize his potential.

His blocking has improved over his first year, and if he can make that same amount of improvement this year then yes he could be counted on as a blocker. But that is a big if.

That stuff is all relative. If you put a young Gronk in this offense you can bet he'd be the #1 read on a metric $#!T ton of plays. But we don't have a young Gronk. We have a couple guys who need to step it up and prove to McVay and company that they deserve those top read priorities.

The surprise offseason standout for all 32 teams

All teams; https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/26943229/the-surprise-offseason-standout-all-32-teams#lar

Los Angeles Rams
Gerald Everett

A second-round pick in 2017, Everett has had a few standout moments in his young career, including a 39-yard catch in the NFC Championship Game, but he has not been consistently called upon in coach Sean McVay's offense. Through the offseason program, Everett was a clear standout as a target for quarterback Jared Goff. "The game is slowing down for him," McVay said. "He's just continuing to progress and take steps." Everett will compete in a group that also includes fourth-year tight end Tyler Higbee. -- Lindsey Thiry

I am sure looking forward to watching TE Everett being utilized fully in this highly skilled offense along with a healthy WR Kupp & RB Gurley plus the addition of a new big playmaking fresh RB like Henderson. This should be so much fun on Sundays this fall.

One would hope differently for "The Top Ram 2017 Draft Selection" Gerald Everett :sadwalk:......so much time has passed now into his 3rd yr in his 4 yr contract to begin to demonstrate enough ability & skills that our HC is planning to engage a TE offensive weapon into this offense. Better late than nevero_O.

6'3/240 with a 4.62/40 with improving hands and already the OTA standout player so far this year after showing improvement throughout the season last year.

This guy is trending up which means that he will demand more time on the field.

He'll get all the support and chance he needs as he was the first draft pick of Sean McVay.

I expect more improvement and fairly big things from Everett.

Tight ends usually take longer to develop, he's right on track if you ask me. Kupp going down was tough medicine for Goff and the Rams, but the result was Higbee and Everett beginning to shine and show what they're made of. Something that other teams didn't really worry about when the Rams were hanging 30 or 40 on everyone.

Now the entire league get to witness the full offensive capabilities of our offense. Doubters be damned, it's gonna be a fun show, better hope they stock up on fireworks.

Everett coming from a smaller college & incurring a Camp injury did not help.

Our 3 starting receivers took some serious big hits from LB'ers & SS last season on very short pass completions. I would hope that our 2 TE's (Everett & Higbee) along with our 3 RB's (Brown/ Gurley/ Henderson) will be much more involved in those type of short gains this season.
