Passing attempts

Funny to note that the guys who threw the most times this week (Bradford, Luck, Brees) had mediocre at best games - at least by passer rate standards - and the top 8 passers by rating (Mariota, Brady, Rodgers, Taylor, Palmer, Smith, Dalton, Foles) had 34 or fewer attempts. Ain't it?

That's usually how it works. Teams that throw more are usually playing from behind and have likely had less efficient games which have put their team in that position.

I think a good average for Foles will be 27 Attempts! JMHO!

Isn't this often the case?

1) You throw more when you're losing. You're often losing because of turnovers from things like... interceptions. = Bad passer rating
2) You just have a higher amount of chances for the ball to get tipped/batted etc and end up as a.... interception. = Bad passer rating
3) It means your game is 1 dimensional so the D can key in on the QB which results in? You guessed it. More interceptions.

I would bet it's pretty common for that to happen.

What I thought was funny is how the shecocks are now trying to make the transition to a passing team, similar to what the whiners did last year, and they forgot the key ingredient, a passing QB that can stand tall in the pocket, scan the field and hit the open WR. The Rams know RWs limitations and baited him into 3 throws that should have been picked, 1 was picked. With the pocket closing in on RW he cant see the field and will throw to where the WR should be, only the DBs were right there to jump the route beating the WRs to the spot.

Wilson threw it 41 times. The most in his career. I wonder if thats part of their gameplan now, or was it because they were playing from behind. When they went up 13-10 early in the 3rd he was at about 21 pass attempts.
