From PFT.........though it would have only tied the game not changed anything, there was still time to play.

(I watched this and was hoping a flag would get thrown but the position of the defender and the ref made it impossible to see on the field).

The referee who called this year’s Super Bowl says if the new rule allowing replay to review pass interference had been in effect, a potentially game-altering play would have changed.

John Parry, who retired from refereeing and now works for ESPN, says that if he and the league’s officiating office had been able to use replay at the Super Bowl, they would likely have reversed the crucial incomplete pass when Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore grabbed Rams receiverBrandin Cooks with four and a half minutes to play. A pass interference there would have given the Rams first-and-goal while trailing by seven points, meaning the Rams would have had an excellent opportunity to tie the game in the closing minutes.

“I think video would show that his arm was contacted and restricted enough to bring a flagand create a pass interference,” Parry said. “And that would have been in New England’s red zone. So it would have extended the drive and maybe they put points on the board with four minutes to go. That would be a pretty impactful decision.”

Parry said he believes slow-motion replay will spot a lot of pass interference penalties that the officials miss in real time.

“Unless they change it all up,” Parry said. “They’re going to use slow motion. They’re going to use frame-by-frame. They’re going to be technical.”

And that’s going to be a very big change in the NFL.

It also would have changed a call in the Aints and Steelers game earlier in the season which would have made the NFCCG in LA and away from the cheating Aints fans and changing the whole game.

In fact here is a highlight reel.

It's still awesome to see GZ standing smack in the center of the Saints logo then launching the game winner. Fast forward to 5:40 if you want to see just that.

I’d have rather blown their whiny asses out. But yeah a win was nice.

Yeah and I really, really do like that visual of the camera shot through the goal posts with GZ standing on the Fluer de Lis, dead center and lining up that monster kick. He crushed that ball!

So in the last 2 minutes they’re going to “get technical” with it. They’re going to slow it down and analyze it closely.
I can’t wait to see how this gets implemented, there’s no way to call every pi is there? Just wait til one doesn’t get called. At some point you just have to accept that refs make mistakes( unless you’re from NO)but now we have eliminated errors. We’re gonna get them right from now on. I think we’re headed down a rabbit hole, anybody watch the Kentucky derby? One horse crossed the line first but upon further review, he cut off the horse next to him so he’s disqualified, but if you go back a little further it looks like another horse was running up the winner’s back, clipping his legs until he swerved to get clear. Who was at fault? Hard to say but replay really didn’t help, it’s open to interpretation. Just like the rules the nfl has now, what’s a catch, what is possession and a football move?
I just don’t see how every catch or non catch in the last 2 minutes doesn’t get reviewed.
