He can have a straw straight up his nose to his mouth like a beer helmet for all I care as long as he wins playoff games.

I would cut off my left nut , put it in a mason jar and sell it on eBay ,if we were lucky enough to land this guy. I'm terrified on the inside with last year's Pet Carrol coming home to coach Rams banter we heard

Well, the only way Harbaugh is the new Ram coach would be in 2019 because I believe he will stay at Michigan until he wins a National Title and completes the majority of his 7 year contact.

Dudes not leaving Michigan
:deadhorse:

I know in certain fantasy worlds this makes sense but it's not going to happen.

I wonder what Harbaugh would say if Stan offered him $10 million per year and a five year contract that he would know comes with zero drama. Chance to coach a team with way more pieces than the Niner team he inherited, plus the chance to stick it to them 2x a year in a division he knows well.

Harbaugh's not a normal dude. I am certain he burns over the way the 9ers firing went down, and the Rams job and roster would be insanely attractive to him.

the way his firing went down is exactly why I think he wont come back to the NFL. He did a great job coaching and still got fired, where as at michigan it would be almost impossible for him to get fired.

He got fired by a bush league owner and front office that was lucky to have him. Do you think he wouldn't trust Stan when he watched him patiently allow Fish five years?

The LA market/media could change how patient Stan is with any potential future HC, but either way the even if he trusts stan to give him time, theres still a risk of poor job security, where as at Michigan thats not an issue. Personally I think theres 2 reasons a college coach becomes an NFL coach. 1. More money, and 2. to prove yourself at the highest level

as for reason 1, thats not really an issue considering Michigan would pay him whatever they need to in order to keep him if leaving every became a real possibility. As for reason 2, IMO he already proved himself to be a great coach at the NFL level, but maybe not getting that super bowl ring does bother him and he does want another crack at it.

I just find it hard to see the benefits of going back to the NFL over his current situation. I feel like theres a reason most very successful college HCs at a premier college choose not to leave for the NFL. The only recent one that comes to mind is Carrol but the pending sanctions likely played a big part in that.

That's a good point, but it's too soon IMHO. People are very passionate when it come to their alma mater, I know how I feel about the University of Dayton and that was Division III ball back then and all I did was deep snap. Harbaugh is the golden boy Quarterback, who played under the renown Bo Schembechler that came home to restore glory back to the maze & blue, he will not leave until at the very minimum one national title has been won.

Or longer

  1. Three years at the University of San Diego
  2. Four Years at Stanford
  3. Four Years at San Francisco
I will stick with my prediction of four years, I feel strong about that!

I don't get all the love for this guy. Wasn't he terrible dealing with the players ? I could swear I read that he treated the players like children and they didn't like him as a coach. If that's the case I don't want him anywhere near our team. There's got to be better options.
