For the most part, this has been a good trend this season. Our D has played very well in the 1st half of most games and then they are gassed in the 2nd half and things get ugly. So I decided to go back and look at all the opponents scoring in the 1st half of our games this season, and I didnt factor in special teams returns, fumble returns, int returns.
- Our defense has given up 146 pts over 14 games, so thats around a 10 pt average.
- The Saints game was the big turnaround for our D, they shutout the Saints in the 1st half.
- In the 6 games before that shutout our D had given up 106 points. Thats about an 18 pt average. 13 TDs, 5 FGs.
- The next 8 games our D gave up 40 pts. Thats a 5 pt average. In those 8 games, one TD allowed, 11 FGs.
Now I have checked and double checked this the best I could, if I got anything wrong please correct it.
