This is what I did on Madden :laugh1: - Going through more important players - not listing everything.

Players from 2023-2024
Offense - Kupp traded, Tutu gone, Noteboom gone, some other random people I don't remember gone. Resigned Demarcus Robinson to a 1 year deal.
Defense - Bobby Brown III gone, Kendricks cut, Johnson III gone, Reeder gone Re-signed Witherspoon to a 2 year deal.

Free Agents Signed ( I bid for Chris Godwin - but wouldn't commit as much as a couple other teams did).

Chavarious Ward CB
Cam Robinson OT
Poona Ford DT
Charlie Jones PR/KR

Draft (significant picks) Focus: get a young offense to go with young defense)

1st round Emeka Ebuka WR
2nd round (traded up) Kaleb Johnson HB
3rd round picks were LB and OT

Trades

Traded 4th round pick for Germaine Pratt Bengals MLB (pre-draft)

Traded for David Njoku TE at trade deadline.

Re-signed Kyren Williams to an extension - but If I play beyond this year, will try and trade him.

Ward is not a good DB.
Don't want him.
Poona is a step down from B Brown in my opinion.
Brown should be one of priority FA signing.

Highly doubt B-brown is coming back. (PFF has Ford #75 and B-Brown #113)

Ward was bad last year - but one of the top rated DB in the years before. PFF has him as #13 in top 125 Free agents.

If we still have Superbowl aspirations I really think the offense needs to get older at skill positions, even if for one or two years.

Doesn't align with the rest of the roster very well.

This draft should provide some juice on offense, RB depth, DL. Position I'd look to FA for is CB. Feels like getting one position filled before the draft, maybe two, would help the picks cover the rest.

I'm not a draftnik. I do start researching more as we get closer to it. Rams typically don't get involved with the initial free agent signing frenzy. They usually wait till it dies down and look for good deals with the next tier of free agents. Someone who might come cheap and still appears to have something left in the tank is Bobby Wagner. We could use an experienced guy like that to help with run defense. Maybe not a 3 down guy anymore but good depth.

As far as the draft if there is a quality receiver who grades out to be a good NFL starter I'd like to see us pick one in the first round. Although I wouldn't mind if we traded down for more day 2 picks. The draft calculator has number 26 with equal value to mid second and mid 3rd. If there is a willing trade partner that would be an option. With 4 picks I'd go WR, CB, ILB and maybe a QB if he's a guy they can develop into a viable starter in 2 or 3 years. I know they're thinking they gotta plan for the post Stafford era.

I've never played Madden and have never understood the discussion attraction of wild trading scenarios that will never happen. That is, unless the wild trade has already happened...

Where are the wild trade scenarios that would never happen on what I posted?

IMO, Ford would be a solid signing and an improvement on BB3. Not sure Kaleb Johnson would be the back I'd trade up for in the 2nd (he isn't). Also, trading up in the 2nd for a RB seems like too much when we have 2 good ones under contract. Don't get me wrong, I love me some of the backs this year, but there are so many, you don't need to give up the farm to trade up.

yeah good point - I guess part of the reason for taking the RB was being iffy on if I want to keep Kyren long term.

I made a general statement about what I consider a waste of time. Especially arguing about it. But hey, to each his own.

It's basically just "if you were the GM"

I am wondering with the draft being a bit weak at the top, does Les revert back to his old ways and offer our #1 for a player like Tee Higgins? Maybe you get a pick back as well.

I am sure they look at it as their #1 is not really a #1 the caliber of what they had last year in that draft.

So would you do a deal for Higgins straight up for #26 or maybe for #26 and you get back a 4th? Maybe even a 3rd?
Maybe the draft compensation is much lower due to the new contract he is due as teams may not want to give him the big contract. Heck maybe the Rams likely wouldn't do it for that contract reason.

However, with Stafford on board it puts more emphasis on this year and maybe 26'. So Higgins gives you a 25 yr old plug & play big time WR. Would make sense to go after it now with Stafford, Hav, and Higbee coming back.

No. Higgins has injury concerns. I felt he was worth the risk if we could sign him outright. At that point if things go bad you're just wasting monetary resources. But I wouldn't trade a 1st and pay him huge money given his injury history.

Yeah, that's my concern in regards to injuries. However, I would not be surprised if they do make a trade for someone who can make an immediate impact. Maybe not for a #1, but I could see a move made at a position that they are in need of.

Personally, no. I'd rather take a swing with Golden, Burden, Egbuka, Harris, or Jayden Higgins. MUCH cheaper and less of a injury concern. Add to that, not paying a guy top 5 WR dollars and its MUCH more beneficial to go the draft route.

I actually agree with that, but just wondering if they want to maximize this season, and despite Nacua's big rookie year, that's not normal for rookies.

Ive never been impressed with Ward.
Brown should be a prime candidate to return. His game has improved in a real way and he was one of the big reasons the Rams run D improved over the course of the season. Also, he is still a very young player.
