Good article regarding AD.

There are a lot of ways to describe Aaron Donald. Many people call him “unstoppable.” Others say he’s the best player in the NFL right now. One thing’s for sure, though: There’s no denying that he’s the top defender in football and has been for the past two-plus years.

Analysts, players and fans have been enamored by his play this season, headlined by his 16.5 sacks – which lead the NFL and are 5.5 more than he had last season – but even officials are impressed by the way he’s dominated offensive linemen.

After Sunday’s win over the Lions, Jared Goff was asked about Donald’s play. He first paid Aaron a compliment, then said how he talks to referees about how Donald is playing.

They often tell Goff that Donald is the best they’ve ever seen.

“He’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen,” Goff said. “I try to get a gauge – I’ll ask the head judge [when] he’s having a week like that, ‘How’s 99 look?’ And they’ll be like, ‘He’s the best I’ve ever seen.’ So you hear that pretty often. I’m just happy he’s on our side and I don’t have to face him. But yeah, he’s incredible and he deserves everything coming his way.”

Donald was a force again on Sunday against the Lions, recording two sacks, four quarterback hits, four tackles for loss and a forced fumble. He also got the attention of the officials a few times, drawing three holding penalties on the Lions.

Few people get to see Donald work more than Goff in practice and the officials each and every Sunday, and clearly they think very highly of him.

Yep he should be MVP, player of the decade, first ballot hall of famer. He’ll be studied for years to come and could change the position.

As great as he was against the Lions the real breakthrough is the holding calls. He is such a force the refs are now watching what opponents are doing to slow him down when he doesn’t make a play.

I agree with changing the position except the part where people can do what he does.
Leverage, use of balance, explosive first step and change of direction and how he uses his hands.
Getting involved in martial arts to learn to use the hands is such a big part of his game.

That remains to be seen. He has a rare combination of tools.

Maybe with the changes to a more pass happy league they should be.

Or maybe college coaches will consider a similar build for their defensive tackles.

Donald could be Jerome Bettis if he wanted to. He's definitely just as fast and quick, and takes care of his body better.

I think Donald would be a plus, if not great, player at almost any position on D, and could probably be a badass RB as well.

I hope Wade comes up with a way to take advantage of the double and triple teams AD will be getting come playoff time. We saw yesterday that the offense may get shut down at times . Even the greatest show on turf struggled a few games . 6-5 late in the 4th almost gave me the big one back then

He seems very fast, especially for an d lineman, I remember that fumble that wasn’t a fumble against Seattle, AD picks up the ball and takes off like a rb. Definitely not the fat guy looking for someplace to fall down.

Absolute monster , MVP is deserved after yesterday. The QBs have all had off games, Donald has been very consistent .

Yesterday showed how great he can be when suh is engaged for 4 quarters

Now, if only those refs would actually call holding more often...

I mean, after the snap, it's not a freaking group hug out there...

True. At least AD have been getting calls now the 1st quarter of the season feels like the refs have blinds on them on holding calls.
