You are correct in that there is no way that happens. But I'll play....

I'd see what kind of offers I can get for Mariota. Surely there'd be some good offers coming in.

If I had to pick a guy...I'm firmly in White's corner.

My take on QB at the moment...we go through 2015 with Foles, Keenum, Davis. We'll learn a lot about what we have in them. If our season tanks, we'll be drafting one high next year and we aren't tied to big, heavy contracts with any of the QBs we currently have. So I don't think we add a QB high in the draft this year

Baldinger doesn't appear to be a draft expert to me, BUT this scenario would be incredible...

The Rams come up at pick 10, and Cooper, White AND Mariota are all on the board.

Who are you taking? BB has us taking White.
He picked all D players up to #10. Which is strange considering he's a former O-Lineman! If it where to happen, I'd go White, to give Foles more Targets!

Only way I pass on Mariota there is if someone blows my socks off with a trade. It would take at least a first next year and a 2nd this year and maybe more depending on how far down we were dropping.

I'd take Mariota. I like White more, but Foles is a FA next season and if Mariota shows enough to make the Rams think he can be the starter then why pay out all of the money for Foles next year. Plus they may not be happy with Foles by the end of the season.

If nothing else they could trade Mariota for some picks next off season.

I'd still probably take Mariota. Foles isn't a sure thing and is a FA next year. Worst case scenario, you could probably trade Mariota for a first rounder if Foles IS the guy. Either way, we're building for the future this way.

Cooper is so tempting though.

Cooper and White are hella tempting though. If you hit on Foles, you passed up on a bountiful trade + still a quality WR or you passed up on a sexy WR to pair with Foles.

Probably Mariota right now.

I'd take Mariotta as well.
1. I've watched him play many times. His upside is huge. He's smart and a hard worker, athletically gifted, and has shown enough at the position to make me have confidence that he can develop into a difference maker of an NFL quarterback.

2. After this season, either Foles doesn't pan out or he does enough to warrant a significant contract. If he's not up to snuff, we'd best have somebody there to step into the position. Even if he is, Mariotta might be there to step in. The 49er's and Seahawks had a huge salary cap advantage over the Rams these last few years due to the disparity in monies being used to pay the quarterbacks. Transitioning to Mariotta would turn the tables in this regard for a few years.

Mariotta probably needs a year sitting, watching, learning, developing before becoming a starter. Foles allows that opportunity.

Truth be told though, I'll probably be stoked with any of the players mentioned though. I'm a best player available person.

Cooper. Wouldn't hesitate. I'm still a huge fan of White, but watching Cooper move at his Pro day changed my mind. And he's a lot bigger than I thought.

I don't get what folks see in Mariota. I see a slightly headier, not douchy Kaep. I could be totally wrong, but his accuracy and mechanics scare me. RG III was wicked accurate in his college spread system and that hasn't exactly worked out all that well. Kaep has survived on having a top 5 D every year that he "looked good".

Cooper? In a nano-second. White? Without hesitation. Mariota?

I have a doubt, Mr. President...

Can't pass on Mariota if he's there.
Although I would have a hard time passing on Cooper.

Big reason why Mariota makes sense is if we don't shore up the OL we need a QB that is good at running for his life.

My feelings about Mariota are perfectly summed with this video:

tl;dw: I'm skeptical.
