Bryn Renner

Chase Rettig

Would Austin Davis have been on this list if SB didn't go down?

For what it's worth, Brett Favre was cut by the Falcons back in the day.
 
id hate t be our FO right now. That cut to 75 is gonna be tough. I'm no longer convinced that Sam Bradford might not be part of that initial cut - see if he clears waivers and we move on from there. I would hate that, but damn...

I read somewhere that he doesn't have to go through the waiver wire. He becomes a free agent the moment he is cut and can negotiate on the spot.
 
Marvin McNutt cut by the Panthers; thought very highly of him during his draft season.

I doubt if Davis would have been among the cuts to 75. The fact that Fisher immediately went to Davis after Sam went down tells me a lot. And the fact that Davis did really well when he got into the game tells me even more. The kid may turn out to be a good QB.

Max Starks has been released, too. His career may be over.

@Prime Time that's a heluva Branch story. Shame. Guy's really good at playing football.

That's interesting to me. I didn't see the game. But I thought Davis was good as gone after basically blowing his chance to be the #2 last year. It seemed like he stalled in development and wasn't showing a lot of signs of getting better, although in fairness--this year--it sounds like he just wasn't getting many reps.

I think Davis is ahead of Gilbert right now.
 
via jthom1: Offensive linemen R.J. Dill and DJ Morrell have also been informed they are being released by the Rams.
