You have to take what a draft gives you in regards where the talent depth is. I still think offense with the first pick but I am always in favor of drating linemen either side when in doubt. This past SB a prime example why.

Free agency will tell us plenty. What they don't prioritize there will likely be a huge tell.

Yep DL is loaded this year.

I still want Walker or Grant to Finish our D-Line.

Beat others to the punch and get after what other positions of value we need/want.
They would be nice but I'm leaning another way now with Stackhouse or Hemingway later after we upgrade the offense.

I agree. Take DT RT and/or LB in or beyond the 100s

By then it will be thin at WR and CB. There will still be TEs, but the top tier ones will be gone.

There is a big separation between top tier CBs WRs and TEs to the next tier

There is not much separation between RT prospects; LBs; Safeties; second tier DTs, Edges and RBs

My strategy would be to address WR or TE and CB early (i.e. receivers and secondary)

Then BPA as we progress to strengthen some of our better groupings

We could, for example, have an elite TE room; even stronger DL; a difference maker at WR and CB; and a developmental OT.

Most if not all of the senior prospects that I like are invited to the Senior Bowl. I would be beyond happy if some fall based on the underwear olympics

Bravo but I am not so high on Walker and hope we trade down if we take Grant

Yes, another DT (NT) and Edge (pass rusher) would cement our young line for years. If the DL can maintain the playoff run look out!

One interesting stat, did you see it, was that all the best teams were ranked high in tackling. So let’s get players who would boost our percentage (we were ranked 15th and all teams below us missed the playoffs). We need to improve to become elite

Shame that Zakhari Franklin and Moose Muhammad III weren't invited. I would've loved to see their forty times. Franklin is one of my favorite deep sleepers in this class (and has been a favorite of mine throughout his college career), and he ranks in the top ten in both career receptions and career touchdowns in FBS history, so I'm disappointed he wasn't invited. As for MM3, I'd have loved to see his forty time, see how fast he is.

Guess I'll have to pay attention to Illinois and Texas A&M's Pro Days.

You're probably right, but I'm hoping the team simply selects the best player on their board.

I agree 100%.

How I was taught by my coaches in high school and in college if you aren’t going to tackle you’re going to be on the bench. They also taught very good form tackling similar the standards of today which improved tackling success rates.

Watching in particular Verse the first half of the year I was appalled by his tackling technique but our coaching staff must of corrected that because he sure looked a lot different the second half of the year and in the playoffs. I’m confident we have a current defensive coaching staff that can teach tackling correctly. We just need to find talent that is willing to take coaching and the ability ti listen and put it into motion.

Reminds me of Lombardi “ grab, grab, grab!! All we are doing is grabbing nobody tackling!!” lol

Anyways, I see any one below Grant, Graham, Harmon and Williams as a step down tbh.

Graham, Harmon, and Williams. Are projected to to be gone on all projections I’ve seen before our pick which leaves Grant.

And seeing every game of his in his career I’m completely sold on him just as long as he has a supporting cast which in our case we do.

Adding him would unlock another level to our Defense that we haven’t seen IMO.

Also, as I’ve said all last season I pray we add at least one legit cover/second middle ILB like Baun. Don’t get me wrong I want to grab a good CB this draft but MF’r if we had a half ass decent second ILB at least one of those long runs by the Eagles in our divisional game wouldn’t have happened and I’d wager two wouldn’t have happened.

That’s the price you pay once you get into the playoffs for having a glaring weakness that your horrible LB gets washed up in the trashed or contacts a OLineman and hes done.

First day of the Combine is a week from tomorrow.

The 2025 League Year / Free Agency is three weeks from today.

The NFL off-season is so much fun.
