Looking at teams considered to be in the top echelon of the conference 4 weeks ago:

Los Angeles Rams 4 - 0 - 0
New Orleans Saints 3 - 1 - 0
Green Bay Packers 2 - 1 - 1
Carolina Panthers 2 - 1 - 0
Philadelphia Eagles 2 - 2 - 0
Minnesota Vikings 1 - 2 - 1
Atlanta Falcons 1 - 3 - 0

I just like looking at numbers like this, especially when the Rams are on top. Any of these teams could catch fire at any time and start a run. Two of the teams (NO, Atl) seem to be having some serious defensive issues. Green Bay seems to be getting better as Rodgers gets better. Carolina and Philadelphia are hard to decipher at the moment. The Rams look a little vulnerable on defense, but that should come around as the season progresses. The offense is scary good and getting better. Good time to be a Rams fan.

On to quarter # 2!

Thing about Green Bay is that their success is predicated almost soley on how well Aaron Rodgers plays. To be quite honest, their offensive scheme is antiquated, or so it seems to me. Watching them I feel bad for A-Rod. Imagine that man in a modern scheme.

Lots of time left for shuffling, but yeah... it's looking like the best teams with us are;

1. Minnesota
2. New Orleans
3. Philadelphia
4. Atlanta

That still feels like the strongest teams in the NFC right now to me, regardless of record.

All teams have their weaknesses, including our Rams.

I'm more impressed with Atlanta than Philadelphia. In fact, I'd switch the Bears with the Eagles in that list

Atlanta has lost 2 straight. They've lost 2 of 3 at home. Their one win was an uninspiring squeaker over the Panthers.

Atlanta sucks. The only thing they have going is a super soft schedule the rest of the way.

...can we also talk Chiefs in this thread? Their schedule the rest of the way is brutal. The Chiefs, and their deplorable defense will be an after thought within 6 weeks. They're going to fall hard like they always do. I also predict the Burrito Bowl will be a wipe out. Rams 54 Chiefs 33 is my early prediction!

The start is nice but I'm more interested in seeing how this team fares in the last quarter of the season. Hoping we don't sleep on the Seahawks just cause they're not as good as they used to be. Divisional games tend to throw Vegas odds out of the window
