Kenan Smith
Title:Assistant Coach
Kenan Smith is in his third season as an assistant coach at Butler, and he’s responsible for the Bulldogs’ receivers. He joined the Butler staff after spending one season as a graduate assistant coach in charge of wide receivers at Anderson University. He also served as a football operations volunteer intern at Ball State during the summer of 2010. A two-sport athlete at Sacramento State (1999-2003), Smith began his post-graduation career as a marketing intern in the athletic department at the University of Michigan. He served as Assistant Director of Marketing & Promotions at Michigan from 2006 to 2009. His duties at Michigan included working with football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, corporate hospitality, print/design projects and managing the student intern program. Smith was an all-conference wide receiver in football and a sprinter on the track team as an undergraduate at Sacramento State. He served as a football team captain as a senior and finished his collegiate career ranked in the school’s “Top 10” list for all-time receptions. Off the field, he served for three years on the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Smith earned a degree in business administration from Sacramento State in 2005, and he’s done additional work toward a master’s degree in business administration at Anderson.
