Anyone who thinks Myles Garrett should be suspended indefinitely or charged with assault is SO SOFT!

That fight was not bad! A bunch of swinging and pushing but nothing connected outside of the helmet tap, and I bet anything he wasnt even bruised from that hit.

A fine and a game or so suspension I get, but pressing charges and kicking him out the league is way too far.

That's bullshit. A hit to an uncovered head from a helmet can kill someone. Damn right Garrett should be out of the league and charged with assault.

Yeah, in the street that's assault so I'm not sure why we would condone it in a stadium setting. Throw the book at the thug.

His head recoiled from the hit. Luckily DeCastro was restraining Garrett and made it hard for him to get a full swing or he could have easily done serious damage or worse. This isn’t about a light scrum it’s about rage that was not controllable to the point he tried to do real harm to another player. That shit has no place in civilized society and definitely not a game.

Up to that point yeah who cares. Rudolph had the right to be angry at Garrett’s unnecessary hit, which he has a history of, and then Garrett has the right to be upset at Rudolph tugging on his helmet. Pushing, shoving, swinging a couple fists is completely different than full on bringing a hard, blunt object in full swing from behind your back into a downward motion into someone’s skull. That’s jail time if they are outside the stadium.

I dont think he should be kicked out of the NFL but this should be a first and final warning type situation. Tearing off another player's helmet and using it as a weapon by hitting the player in the head is ridiculous.

Don't hockey players always drop the sticks when they engage in their frequent fisticuffs?

In today's "lock everybody up" mentality, I could easily see a SA charge Garret with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He can afford the finest criminal defense.

Sorry but anybody who thinks what he did was ok is well can't say it, I'd get a mod mad at me. Dude shouldn't play again this year if ever. He tried to kill somebody after ripping their helmet off he tried to hit them in the head with it. Game over clown.

He removed part of a player's uniform and used it as a weapon. If he would've just tossed it a la Kyle Turley, no problem, but he was trying to crack dude's skull.

There's a huge difference between hockey players who drop their sticks and take off their helmets for a mutual bout than what Garrett did. Hockey players don't try to use their sticks/helmets as weapons against helmetless players, and those who do get lengthy suspensions - see Marty McSorley on Donald Brashear.

Garrett can get the fuck out of the NFL because he could've easily killed Rudolph.

Lol @ filing assault charges. That’s dumb asf! Then where does it begin or where does it end? You get an unsportsmanlike and get an assault charge? Roughing the kicker? Go to jail. This is a contact sports and shit happens.

suspend his dumb ass a season and a half without any pay at the minimum.

I just heard an asshat on ESPN with Stephen A. actually defend Garrett. Saying they were going at each other and Garrett just won the encounter. I'm just fucking speechless......

What a moron. Garrett should fry, absolutely no excuse for his actions.

The Neanderthal part of my DNA loves to watch players go at it.
It's a violent sport, and that violence has always appealed to me.
It's the same part of me that is not overly interested in soccer.

BUT...the more evolved part of me recognises that it was completely out of order, and it could've gone seriously wrong. It's not far fetched to say he could've split his head open and gave him brain damage.

I'm ok with violence, but there is a line.

Lawl at thinking that swinging a football helmet at another person's head falls under the definition of "contact sport".

Rudolph deserved to get bitch slapped. As do all stealers players.

Still I can't see that dirty fuck Garrett playing again this season.

That was my point.

Thanks for the reiteration.

There's nothing mutual about hitting another player in the head with a helmet. The closest thing in sports was McSorley's two-handed swing at Brashear's head, and McSorley got assault charges against him. No reason why Garrett shouldn't get the same.

Guess we sending half the pitchers who “assault other players“ with a baseball to jail. Say goodbye to half the NHL players out there for hitting somebody with a stick.

Garrett has a mental problem. He’s a scary dangerous guy. He should not be allowed on a football field again until he is fully diagnosed and treated and deemed safe. I don’t think he’s safe right now.

Rudolph is not very smart. First you try to rip off a crazy guys helmet, then you kick him in the groin, then you chase after him without your helmet on. Even Donald was smart enough to put his helmet on when he went after that guy in Seattle. You’d never see a smart QB like Brady or Wilson doing that. I remember Brady telling Donald in the SB “do you think I’m out of my mind?” regarding trying to block Donald on a play. As I was watching the play unfold last night I’m thinking “Rudolph get the hell out of there!” What a dope.
