McVay's decision to run on 3rd and long under 3 min?

Assuming Evans can throw and the Wingman can catch, yes. If doubts about that, then no. But was an opportunity. Not like an OL out to catch. Punt was pretty horrible. So cold have been better.
You were serious :wow2: ..... Well alright then...... But I 100000000% disagree.

I agree with the sentiment that a pass would have demonstrated a better killer instinct - with the risk/reward being get the 1st down versus not getting to the 2m warning. Yet perhaps McVay was thinking about Kyren's run 8-10 yard run for a 1st down just before that and thought he could do it again. And I bet he expected the clock to get to the 2m warning on that run?

And also, I too thought Kyren should have had the instinct to go down in bounds once he got the 1st down on that previous run. We need to maximize these situations.

So while McVay's conservativism got us into OT potentially, it also was conservatism that resulted in us winning that game.
Except it didnt, Chicago scored the tying TD on the ensuing possession. The conservative play back fired. If they turned it over there the worst case scenario was that they tie the game up

As it pertains to the end of the game it was Chicago's QB throwing yet another questionable ball, of which there were many others throughout that game, that ended their season. So I think there's some irony in that.

Pointed out I thought his approach was a mistake. But he also won the game because his team didn't make the last mistake.

Gotcha
Makes sense
Also what could be said is that the Bears lost because their WR Moore broke off his route, while McVay's boys played every down like it was their last

This is where I think McVay is actually underrated. There are a lot of times he'll inexplicably go into a shell and I'll cuss him out (which I did on that series he ran it 3x). But when it comes to big games he sure does come out on top quite often. So I think he makes his decisions on reading his QB and team around him.

The defensive approach is another example. I get so pissed at that bend but don't break shit but I have to admit it works quite often.

Either way I am relieved as hell to survive that game. Hated the matchup. We could still get beat by Seattle but in terms of the matchup it favors us much more.

So I know the field was heated and covered during the week. Then i saw a report of the field uncovered with a slight dusting of snow on friday. WTF. Why uncover until day of game.

I don`t know. Maybe to prevent ice? The weather def. had a lot more to due about our offensive woes than given credit for...
