I clicked on this at NFL.com thinking it would be a good read but it's pretty much stating the obvious and then throwing out some really stupid lines.

Following Sunday afternoon's game against the visiting Cardinals, the Rams will close the book on their days of home games at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the 2019 season much easier than they hoped. They'll also begin to turn the page on an abundance of talent likely to move on.

"You'd love to see everyone get paid, you'd love to be able to keep everybody," Sean McVay said via the Los Angeles Times. "Unfortunately, that's not real and that's not realistic.

"You'd always love to be able to retain your own guys. As you're continuing to kind of navigate through what's the best way to shape out our roster, given the financials and all those types of things, those are things that you work through.

"Frustrating, but something that you have to deal with, and everybody has to deal with that."
Though nothing is certain until the final whistle blows and the offseason commences, NFL Network's Mike Silver previously reported that there's a chance star running back Todd Gurley could be moving along, as could defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

Linebacker Cory Littleton, a former undrafted free agent who's become a Pro Bowler is going to want to get paid as such. Thus, he, along with safety Eric Weddle, edge rusher Dante Fowler and defensive lineman Michael Brockers are all candidates to become cap casualties.

"I spent four years here," he said. "I love being here. If it's possible, it would be nice. If it's not I understand."

Per Spotrac, the Rams are due to have $24,239,364 million in cap space. They have big names with big contracts such as Aaron Donald and Jared Goff. Something will have to change.

A year ago at this time, the Rams were readying for what would be a Super Bowl run.

Now, it would seem, they're readying for what could be a major overhaul.

Oh how times change. I can't have been the only one that felt like 2018 was our big opportunity.
We certainly have an uphill challenge to return to SB contenders. Especially with the lack of cap space, lack of picks...and the current performance level from some of our high earners. It will be intriguing to see what this off-season has to offer, because we are heading in the wrong direction, at the moment.

NFL teams can't pay everybody, not exclusive to the Rams. That's why every year there are good free agents. Each team just values their own free agents differently.

It doesn't seem like there was a very good plan in place for sustaining the rosters talent. Two good years and they are one team above the cellar dwellers, no good draft picks and in cap hell. I don't know why Snead gets so much love. Results speak for themselves. Should be charged with a crime for going into the season with this OL.

Very true but the Rams could have done a better job of evaluating their own talent and getting right who gets payed. Like Saffold was more valuable than the Rams calculated.

And was also likely paid more than he'll ever earn at his age and position.

Agree but it will be tough.
I really like Shelby Harris DL from Denver.
He would cost about $12 M to sign.
I like Shelton from NE as well. Very different players. Shelton estimated value is $4-5 M.
Hell, would love to keep Fowler and sign both this guys.
The more likely outcome is the Rams get none of them.

Les is very popular in electronic Ramsdom but what matters is the ownership and Demoff. Are they happy with him? Kroenke is said to carry around the book "Patriot's Way." What they've been doing is pretty much the opposite.

Personally... I don't think Les Snead is safe. And if they don't think they can sign Ramsey he might be on the hotseat.

In fairness to Les, that book is just a list of videographers for hire and sleezy massage hand job places.

Are you saying we need to start filming other teams right now for next season and Kronekes going to make a pit stop at massage parlors in LA?

Very true... going to be I retesting to see what is going to happen this offseason.

just bugs me to no end we don’t have a 1st the next 2 years. I don’t think cost to Benefit ratio is good for Ramsey. I will say killing the Cards will help the offseason go along!

If it comes down to keeping him or Littleton, put me down for keeping Littleton.

I just know I'll be sad because I really liked this roster and we're going to lose some guys who are really good and maybe not be able to improve where we need.

I'm just hopeful that this off-season works out.

I still have PTSD from the days of us losing all our good guys the minute we have success...

I think a guy like Kroenke probably has a call girl on payroll. Pats owner is just an effin idjit.

I've got some ideas about the off-season and who stays and who goes.

We'll see. I'll wait until later in the new year to start that convo... or contribute to one of the already going ones.

They did go all in early with some key signings and trades. It could be argued that the roster simply needed an overhaul, but some of the guys that they brought in to be key contributors were more the short run types either due to age or expiring contracts. Fowler, Talib, Peters, and Whitworth come to mind. Another approach could have been to build slowly through the draft and work for the long run. I believe they wanted to make a splash in L.A. to build than support and also make use of Goff's rookie contract window.

See above reply on the roster. I agree with the Snead comment and the Oline evaluations. It seemed like an obvious disaster after one game. I never liked the Allen pick. The coaches had a full camp to evaluate that group. How do they come away with Denby deserving a roster spot?

And was also likely paid more than he'll ever earn at his age and position.

He wasn't overpaid imo, and as it turns out the Rams could have afforded him.

I'd love to have both first round picks, but feel that Ramsey is worth it. It is very difficult to get his level of talent drafting in the twenties and up. If they don't get him signed though, it will be a disaster. One criticism I have, is bringing in a guy like Jalen seems off course with the me not we mantra.
