I agree on that Ty Simpson will be gone before 13 with such a bad QB selection out there this draft. I always hate seeing a bad team in desperate need of a QB draft one early as if forced to......almost always ends up a bad story, (see all Jets QB drafts!)

For me, if Sean McVay says, "I want TY at 13", you will see me fall in line.

Is there any good reason you hate seeing bad teams (Ram opponents) make stupid moves???

"When your opponent is kicking himself in the ass, dont stop him."

oh I get it.
:)

I'm a big NFL fan with my team being the Rams since birth, but I do hate seeing teams like the Jets, Raiders and Lions of old flounder for decades. (I think all those years of bad Rams football has made me soft).

After the combine, Ty won’t make it to 13. Quarterback needy teams “reach” for quarterbacks earlier than projected all the time.

See, Josh Allen, Bo Nix, Jaxson Dart as recent examples that paid off

That may be true, but this might be a little different.

Usually QBs with limited experience that get selected that high have pretty strong to freakish like measurables and/or physical attributes. Guys like Trey Lance, Anthony Richardson, Kyler Murray, or even Cam Newton. While he appears to be a good athlete I'm not sure that's Simpson. Quite frankly, that may be more like North Dakota State QB Cole Payton.

Potential Ty Simpson landing spots (minus a trade up from round two by basically the same teams)

2. Jets
3. Cardinals
6. Browns
11. Dolphins
16. Jets (from Colts)
18. Vikings
21. Steelers
24. Browns (from Jaguars)

My guesses.
The Browns are going to give Sanders a shot for 2026. Plus Deshaun Watson is healthy now and still owed $$$.

The Jets are tanking for Manning
(Three 1st round picks in 2027 and replaced most of the coaches after one season)

Vikings are going to bring in a vet to compete with McCarthy.

Malik Willis is probably going to wind up in Arizona, Miami, or New York. Guessing Arizona due to the LaFleur connection.

That leaves the Dolphins and the Steelers.
McCarthy may not be blowing smoke about Will Howard's potential.

Final Guess.
If the Dolphins or Rams don't select him, he falls out of the 1st round. Or if the Cardinals don't get Willis, they pick up Garoppolo as a stopgap and trade back into round one for him.

Also Kirk Cousins, Tua Tagovailoa, Kyler Murray, Daniel Jones, or potentially Aaron Rodgers or Derrick Carr could tide teams over for perhaps a season waiting for what may be one of the strongest upcoming QB draft classes in 2027.

Longshot Curveball. Texans trade Stroud and are in the mix for Simpson.

Well you make some good points about Lafleur & Sanders.

Jimmy G might be that guy, then again I know how Mike spoke about Murray even though he was the OC instead of the DC going against the Cards.

Willis balled out until he got hurt & Love came back which helped his bank account.Who knows though ? Haven’t looked at his coaching staff either.

Miami - what a JOKE !! Wonder who makes these guys GM’s ? I honestly think CLEVELAND is in a Better Spot NOW than in years past.Freaking Watson & Tua ruined both franchises.Houston made out SO well with that Trade !!

The Sanders thing !! He is better than Ty Simpson IMO ?? What a Steal !! They still have the QB’s from Oregon who reminds me of a couple of there QB’s from back in the Day.Paul McDonald from USC comes to mind. The THING about The BROWNS is my GUY from THE RAMS who will be a STARTER on the O”LINE next season.
In fact THE RAMS & Mcvay F”UP HUGE IMO by keeping DJ HUMPRIES!! Leveston if he gets into better shape will make some BIG TIME Bank in a couple years.Talk about a STEAL.Still at least The Rams didn’t cut him out right.
You can continue on with your predictions.Jimmy G is Key to what The Rams do at QB !! Stetson will be on The Rams 2026 Roster for sure, unless Lafluer sees value in him for a 2028 7th rd pick as usual???

Without a doubt. Someone taking Simpson high would be very good for us.
I see it happening. After the combine, provided he measures well and throws solid, someone is going to reach for him based on his 1st 9 games this season where he was a top 10 lock.
Downs will be gone SO FAR before 13.
I know. I'm very sad about this.

I think we saw teams more accurately look at QBs last year and that's why a guy like Dart 25th and not higher even though many teams needed QBs. I don't Simpson goes before 20 and even then only if a team is desperate.

My guess, Simpson and Nuss go top of 2nd one right after the other. (Watch Nuss, now healthy climb draft boards).

That totally makes sense. I could see the Steelers having a hard time passing on him however.

Who did Cam Newton lose to in the National Championship???

Freaking Funny - he was what makes say a Jared Goff helping The Rams to a Super Bowl vs say Sam Bradford. The Rams gave up 3 FIRST Round Picks as well.Which was a reason The Rams said F” THEM PICKS !!
I know my post are confusing, but they do make sense if you question between The LINES !!

I’m Oldschool in my ways of VIEWING NFL QB’s & this season PROVES it more than any other NFL Season IMO !!!

I just look at The HISTORY!! Aaron Rogers is a perfect example. He was even playing with a broken left hand at the End of 2025. That’s just an example. My other example really goes to The Superbowl without even thinking about what The Regular Season brought.

From my post from above as well if anyone can decipher through any of my (BS) thoughts.Which actually is REAL !! As an ANGELS FAN I like what there doing on a STRIKE YEAR if RAMS FANS want to compare NFL & MLB. F”them DODGERS!!
Still we could look back at the Angels Stadium & talk about Georgia.Which is ironic. Because that is where The Rams WON there FIRST SUPER BOWL!!

I get DEEP,but most posters can’t Hang !! There is a lot there. Truth is like I said about The Rams - (Field of Dreams-Hollywood) back in the Day post.
You build it they will come. NOW (anyway) there is a lot there.I go back to James Harris days & the Chargers having the same colors as The Rams.

I guess I”Ll post those thoughts on the UNI’s but had a post about the Black QB as well.I remember being in the basement of Disney Hotel when Williams was balling out for the Redskins. There are Franchise QB’s,then you got your Cousins & Purdys that ball out as late rounds QB’s who really break the MOLD.There is NO TRUE SCIENCE,but IMO Veteran(experienced )QB’s are the way to go.Wonder how Jimmy G would have done instead of Stafford?? The Rams are lucky & it was an AMAZING SEASON!!

Jesus, haven't finished my coffee, glad you could understand my insane grammar.

Yeah, I'm intrigued by Simpson and Nuss... I think their ceilings are probably mid level starters in the NFL and curious to see who grabs them.

I think as a team you just have to weigh where that's worth spending picks on a QB like that.

The range where it makes the most sense to take Simpson in round 1--which to me still feels like a big reach--would be that late stretch in round 1. Doing it there a GM can say "well I know it's a reach but we like his chances so we want that 5th year option."

So roughly speaking I think from Pittsburgh on down is his early window. Of course all it takes is one team to go full retard and reach early for him. And he certainly could hit, which would make the whole reach accusation meaningless.

But to bring what I'm saying to light just take a look at the quality of the rushers going from late first round into the early second. That "bucket" as Snead calls it is loaded with Edge, Wideout, DL, Corner who can fit our team. So for the Rams if there's a spot where it makes the most sense to make a calculated reach for Simpson in the first round, it would be at 29.

For myself though I'd rather see us move down and let someone come up to take Simpson there. And then choose between Thomas, Young, Mesidor at Edge, or Abney, Cisse, Hood at CB, etc. Specifically at 29 both Edge and Corner feel like they're gonna be loaded.

At 13 it feels like WR will be loaded. Barring a major run on WR my guess is quality options are there. I'd like to see them get it over with there then go defense with the next few picks.

This team is built to win NOW. If the Rams like Simpson at 29, I am okay with it, but I'd prefer to trade down later in the 1st round with the Falcons pick if that is the case, and recoup an extra 2nd round pick if possible, if we are using a 1st rounder on Simpson.
