How we survived our youth is beyond me. Bicycle helmets? They were unheard of back then. Anyone who wore a helmet would be beat up by the other kids. Monkey bars? Who didn't get skinned up falling off monkey bars on asphalt? Our school had a high jump spot by the track. There was no cushion to land on. It was sawdust that settled down and became harder than the grass. I got the wind knocked outta me numerous times on that one. This generation now is a bunch of wussies.
