I’ll edit this once I see the schedule as bye weeks and multiple weeks on the road may affect the outcomes, but I’m feeling pretty optimistic about our young’uns and how McVay is gonna both emphasize the run more and spread the ball around in the pass game. I also think our D is gonna really gel pretty early and surprise many in this board and in the sports media.

That’s 9-8. I only have us losing to the Packers cuz they’ll have us playing them late in the season like they always do. If we play them early and not on a short week or the 2nd consecutive away game, I think we win and go 10-7. That said, I think we surprise the division early with division wins against all three division opponents.

I don’t think we’ll compete with the Eagles or Bengals, but we’ll surprise with how complete of a team we are with surprising rookie contributions including X-man on offense and on D LT’s nephew among others.

I think we’ll occasionally get gashed in the run fame which will skew our numbers and rankings, but we’ll be stout enough to win more than we lose.

If we get that 10-7, I think that gets us a 7 seed WC spot in the playoffs which would be a far sight greater than most expected after last season.

Edit: of course, all of this is contingent upon us being healthy

I want us to win every game.

I expect us to lose every game.

When it comes to a young team in transition, best to keep expectations low; anything they achieve will be a pleasant surprise.

So early. Lots of moves by us and other teams still to be had.

Of course, injuries always impact outcomes.

The Avila pick was unexpected and makes me think there is a strong possibility we can generate some
Offense this year.

Early prediction: 6 wins. High point of 8 wins if our rookies have a big impact.

I think 11-6 is achievable with 10-7 realistic. 11-6 gets them the division IMO. Regradless I'm expecting a post season this year and then it's all about the luck of the draw. Top Wildcard is better than the bottom division champ. I think the improved OL is going to surprise people.

It will be a pleasant surprise if we can muster anything remotely competitive on the defensive side of the ball. The defense (particularly the secondary) will have major growing pains with all the inexperienced young guys adapting to NFL starting roles.

The most optimistic sports books have us at 7.5 wins. I would bet the under with this young roster. Likely 7 wins with Stafford having Lions flashbacks; putting up steady points only to watch his defense falter.

It's gonna be tough. Just a lot of IFs so how many of these question marks go our way. I'd be happy with 9 though, I'll say that.

Rams D will struggle to get off the field. 3 pro-bowlers, a couple handful of journeymen and 40 rookies might see five wins.

Until we can actually prove that we can beat the Niners, I'll assume we will keep losing to them. In fact, I don't think we'll even be competitive in those two games. And I think Seattle has now bypassed us, though Geno could well fall back to earth. This is a very young team, with a lot of holes and there will be growing pains. We'll probably lose to some teams we should beat and will struggle badly with the top tier of teams.

6-11. An injury to Stafford, Kupp, Donald or key players on the O-line would make this even worse. But it could well mean a top ten draft pick. Would be interesting to see if they try to move up to get Caleb Williams. Would cost a ton -- probably the top 3 picks in the 2024 draft and a few picks at the top of the 2025 draft. But I'd be all for it.

I’m not going to focus on the number of wins snd losses this year. It will undoubtedly be depressing. But I will be focused on how competitive we are in each game and the progression in key foundational areas such as OL cohesion, running game, TE play, edge rush and the rise of a couple of our very young CB corp.

10 wins, shot at wildcard
That’s been my number since last season ended. The 2022 injuries have been downplayed or ignored by nearly everyone including members of this board. Legendary OL injuries, they wrecked the entire operation.

Without injuries this was a 10 win team last year. Sure, McVay needs to evolve and get better and so does the roster but the doomsday crowd are smoking something with their 4 win predictions.

We will compete and we will lose a lot with our young squad. I'm not putting a number on it but it wouldn't surprise me to pick in the top 5 next draft. I think too many are expecting too much from our young guns.

I concur feel good about 10 wins plus one of those victories kicking the 49ers ass, running the ball right down their throat with the Guards knocking Warner on his ass continuesly.

I wonder if we can Plot with Caleb to have him beat a girl after this season and plummet his draft stock and pick him at wherever we are.

Then afterwards the girl states she made it all up and he is clear of charges! Lol

That’s worth a 500k payout in Cali right?

The thing is, this has been one of the youngest teams every year.

Whit was a factor no doubt.

Ramsey’s exp will hurt but everyone around him was young and inexperienced minus Rapp who many think wasn’t any good.

Wagner doesn’t count, we won before he got here when the LB core was young and green.

The DL will have some growing pains but let’s not forget that AD missed a ton of time in ‘22.

The offense will be better and it’s experienced.

Outside of Whit and Ramsey to a lesser extent I’m just not buying it. Some inexperience on D isn’t going to transform this team from a perennial winner to a loser. Mass injuries could do that though. It did.

Sorry my man, but even if they were a 10 win team if healthy last year (they looked more like an 8 win team to me), THIS roster bares little resemblance to the one they fielded a year ago. I loved the draft, and I think they will be competitive sooner rather than later, but if this team wins 10 games this year, I will be absolutely flabbergasted. In a good way of course.... And who doesn't love to be flabbergasted in a good way??

Our line was nothing special to begin with once we lost big Whit. That guy was our glue guy for sure. We still are light in the ass at center/guard depending on where Avila steps in. No one outside of Kupp is a real offensive threat so we are going to rely on health plus Bruss stepping up as a starter to uphold our o-line. Could it happen, yes it can. However, because our defense is set to have so many new faces and be less physical on the boundaries, that offense is going to have little room for error which I'm not confident they can overcome. That's why I said we'll compete, but ultimately we're going to lose a lot of games at towards the end due to inexperience. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see it.

We don’t know that. There were 14 different bodies thrown at it last year. It was downgraded by Whit leaving for sure, but this idea that the starting OL was going to be terrible no matter what is false. I know you didn’t say that, I’m speaking in general.

On offense we need LT solidified and a WR 2 to emerge. Robinson did nothing. I don’t see any doomsday anywhere else.

Our pass rush was weak last year and now we don’t know what it’ll look like. The secondary is full of unknowns.

It’s all good Faceplant. I’m not trying to change anyone’s mind, just speaking mine.

There is a transition going on this year, but there is more evidence(to me) that this team will compete like they always do(when healthy) than there is that this team is a bottom feeder because we lost a few veterans.
