Agreed. Seems like every fucking year the OL slows our start.

Last year some of us were discussing this fact when we were already seeing the danger signs of Avila failing at Center. Rams tried to spin that bullshit as per usual and as teams tend to do. But bottom line is when your starting OL doesn't play in preseason you don't have a lot of wiggle room to fuck around in camp. Camp and more importantly the scrimmages become critical for live reps to polish your top five.

I think this year McVay has the OL positioned far better to be ready game one. Of course since we can never have nice things on the OL we end up of course with Jackson having the blood clot issue, and if that affects his readiness Stafford's gonna get beat to hell off the blindside. Trying to be positive here, really. I hope he can start and play a full 17 weeks for us. But we have an old pocket QB who is not his usual badass self when his blindside is unsettled because he goes full gunslinger mode.

Our division is going to be very strong. Certainly stronger than Philly's division. We have the better QB, but they have by far the better OL. If Jackson is good for 17 games then we're close to them. But there's no way in hell we'll be in the mix for the bye if Jackson is in and out of the lineup. We'll be dropping games early and end up with the usual late season run if we're lucky.

What a WALT’s unbelievable!! Hope the Kleenex is near.

I get what you’re saying what you’re saying, but as usual WAY OFF !! Meaning The Rams for ALL MCVAYS career as HC for The Rams has not addressed The Depth of the O’Line well.

-I could go WAY BACK,but nobody wants that.

I’ll just post my thoughts in another post.

Going after The Rams & ALARIC JACKSON is total BS !!! I can continue to say that The Rams should’ve signed Alaric Jackson last season before he became a FA.

That is still a question that one of the posters says wasn’t possible??
I don’t understand contracts though. Kyren Williams can,SO I don’t understand.

Last season Alaric was looking at a 2 game suspension with Noteboom as the starting LT.The Rams are in a way better position coming into 2025.The rest is sort of total BS.

He actually anchored pretty well in pass pro against a bull rush.
Like all young OL he could get fooled and get beaten by a more experienced player using their hands or leverage.
He also, generally, got decent movement in the run game.
Dedrich is going to be a practice squad guy imo ? I guess that’s his only chance is to be able to be a swing C/G. Limmer is the guy there & he needs to learn how to play guard.
It’s not like last season with all the chaos at Center & Upfront.

I don't agree with all of the downer talk about the Oline. I really like the starting five. Staying healthy is the only real concern. Its basically the same unit as 2023 and they were very good

Well that I agree with 1,000 %.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out.Merlin has been a diaper dandy for years. I’m not sure he liked better Forest Lamp or Dan Feeney in 2017 ? The Chargers drafted both Dan Feeney being the better of the 2. COOPER KUPP was the better pick by The Rams.
Whitworth is still a Ram & going into the HOF as a RAM !

Not having them get even a few live reps in preseason has a cost
The only season that HURT The Rams was 2019,his first real time doing it for all 4 games.

The reason was they CUT John Sullivan & forever Whitworth will tell Mcvay that. The real reason though was starting Brian Allen & Joesph Noteboom with ZERO EXPERIENCE!!

Last season was different & every other season there own case & point. Last season was just another cluster F”@K in itself.

Starting once again by not signing a John Sullivan prodigy in Coleman Shelton first off. Mcvay realized that obviously.

I don’t understand contracts, but IMO like with Cory Littleton. You get this UDRFA & don’t sign them to a better contract that is Player & Team friendly.

Still where The Rams are NOW is night & day with there depth & coaching (O’Line) staff.

I think we should all be stoked AJ is out there. Hopefully he has things under control and is ready to go!

Really to me there was no real doubt. You never know the severity of it & still a big concern.Blood Clots are no Joke especially as a professional athlete.

I think it got overblown. He really didn’t need to FLY to Hawaii. That might be one of the bigger concerns is flying from what I understand. Which isn’t all that much.

I’m enjoying all the OL posts, but I feel like every year McVay doesn’t get this figured out until the bullets are already flying.

IMO this (OL) should be sorted out by the end of camp, but what do I know…maybe it is already.

Not really as far as figuring out the O’Line. There is only SO many reps to go around.

The preseason is very important to who is going to step up.

This season of ALL Sean Mcvays years as a (Ram) HC is the most depth EVER.There is a crazy mix of young players & Vets.

IMO there are going to be some claims & even the depth of the practice squad. There’s a lot of unknown, but I think Humpries & Quessenberry make the 53 ? Even that is such an unknown?

Some on this board were not fans of the pick, but hopefully, they found another.
I went WHO?

Then I look at his tape and saw he got open quite a bit.

He isn't that fast so I was worried a little bit about playing in the NFL with a lack of speed.

But some receivers do extremely well even without a ton of speed.

McVay wants guys that run good routes. I didn't know much about him either but like a lot of others we soon found out why. This kid could get some run in the Rams offense. Still want a good WR with speed but guys like Mumpfield win games too.

One could make the argument at Dedich is getting reps at C because they don't see him as a long term depth option at G.
I thought he played the best of the depth guys at G last year and can have a depth spot on the team.
I know McVay mentioned Limmer being able to play both C and G and the flexibility they like......so, are they trying to develop Dedich versatility or just TC reps to fill....who knows?

I hate to say it, but a lot of this in camp right now, such as with Dedich and others is just basic “We have to get a competent line of camp bodies out there for a few preseason games, lets run these guys through some plays, so we don’t embarrass ourselves and can take a look at some rookie offensive weapon players without getting Dresser Winn and Bennett killed.”

That, and build a practice squad.

Yep.
Also how depth can be built.
