Apparently, the Rams are so desperate to get to Los Angeles that they're just giving away tickets to the rest of their games in St. Louis -- or at least that's what it seems like.
According to a Rams season-ticket holder on Reddit, the team accidentally sent him $25,000 worth of tickets for the Rams' Week 14 game against the Lions that's set to take place on Dec. 13.
Here's how the season-ticket holder described the situation on Reddit:
Rams season ticket holder here. I have 3 tickets in the top bowl for the St Louis Rams. As I checked my mail today I noticed a large priority mail envelope addressed to me from the Rams front office. When I opened it there were about $25,000 in tickets to one game later this season. A few hundred of them. Good seats. There was no letter of explanation or receipt, only my name on the address line and my account number on the ticket... really weird right?
That does sound really weird. It also sounds like someone in the ticket office might be losing their job soon.
To prove he's not making this entire story up, the fan posted a picture of the tickets.
The tickets in the picture have a face value of $84 and if the fan was sent $25,000 worth of tickets, that means the Rams sent this guy about 300 tickets.
The fan, who goes by "BardSTL" on Reddit, says he definitely didn't order the tickets and he also added that the team didn't accidentally charge him for the tickets. So they're definitely not his. Remember, he only has three season tickets.
After getting the giant shipment of tickets, the man called the Rams and explained the situation. Apparently, the team wasn't too concerned about the fact that $25,000 in tickets had been mailed to the wrong person.
"They didn't seem to have any explanation for what happened at all, just politely asked me to mail them back, which I'm more than happy to do," the fan wrote on Reddit. "I couldn't sleep at night keeping something I knew wasn't mine."
If I were the Rams and misplaced $25,000 worth of tickets, I would probably drive to the fan's house and pick them up, instead of asking the fan to "mail them back," but that's just me.
Lucky for the Rams, it seems they sent the $25,000 in tickets to the most honest man on Earth.
Besides giving back free tickets, this guy also gave back free money once.
"A card dealer at the local casino once said I won a hand of Texas hold 'em (one of the ones you play against the house) and the dealer had a flush she didn't notice. I stopped her from paying me out and pointed it out to her," the fan wrote on Reddit. "My friend then poured his beer on my head."
As of now, it looks like "BardSTL" is on a mission to return the tickets. We'll let you know if the Rams offer an explanation for the situation.
