Limmer was rated 35th of 43 Centers by PFF.

42nd of 43 in pass blocking and . . .

22nd of 43 in run blocking.

Hard to see it if JJ and his contract are kept, but the 4th rated center (Dalman) is slated to be a free agent . . .
. . . as are Kelly, the 14th and Coleman (yes, that Coleman) who was rated 16th of 43.

If not, Limmer has a lot on which to improve, especially pass blocking.

Limmer has been great. Hes had a game or two that was mediocre but that's to be expected as a rookie, you're gonna have your bumps and bruises. If he keeps ascending to the player we all hope he can be well have a solid and dependable piece to the puzzle that is the NFL.

He really is the prototypical Center, he's stout strong and moves well for a big guy. It wouldn't surprise me if me makes the probowl next year.

What also surprised me is Jonah Jacksons showing in the Seattle game. He looked good at guard.

He has a lot to improve on but he's stayed healthy and available, and he's done the job for us this season. We'd be fucked if we didn't add him this year.

Yeah, but PFF sucks.

Anyone can see that Limmer is already a reliable and competent player. Of course he makes mistakes - show me one player in the entire league who doesn’t- but he’s only a rookie and will almost certainly improve with experience.

He’s got the potential to be our starting centre for many years.

Don't care about PFF grades, Limmer gave up a few interior pressures to elite rushers but overall solidified the interior as a true center after the Jonah Jackson experiment backfired.

He run blocks like a wrestler and has a decent anchor in pass protection. If we see a sophomore jump I'd expect him to be the long term answer at the position. I could also see him being just solid enough to become the guy ROD is constantly trying to replace like some have been doing with Havenstein for the past decade plus.

Agreed. He's been solid this year as a rookie. If he gets better, we have a quality Center for a long time. However, the false starts drive me a little crazy. You're the doggone Center! (I also have never understood the Havenstein hate from some. He's a top 10 RT.)

He got thrown in because of injuries so is it any wonder his performances have improved as the season progressed? He sat out one game for Jackson and look what happened! He has been excellent and shown yet again that draft spots count for nothing once training camp starts because the best win out. If someone can beat him out next season great but I seriously doubt it based on what we have seen

Center is by far the worst position to use PFF grades on. It is hard to know who that guy is supposed to block on almost any play. whether its second level, or chipping a player or what ever.

I thought Limmer did great this year. I'm glad we have him and don't expect McVay will be looking to upgrade that position anytime soon.

Did you WATCH Limmer play? How did he perform based off what you SAW?

Yeah and how do they grade his calls. I try to do that to some extent by paying attention to how much Stafford corrects the calls but that doesn't mean Limmer got it wrong necessarily. I have a hard time believing PFF gets that shit right.

PFF doesn't grade a center's calls.

And in regard to Limmer, Stafford said he was making all of the pass pro calls; Limmer was making the run blocking calls.
